Uninstall the SAP GUI: 1) Log on to the PC or Workstation as user with local administrator rights a) Disable UAC b) Go to Add/Remove software in your Control panel, and uninstall both i) SAPGUI 7.10 ii) SAP Business Explorer c) Delete the folder C:\Program files\SAP (the whole folder) i) Delete the SAPWORKDIR folder under C:\Users\%user%\SapWorkDir (1) Do this for each user profile on the computer using SAP GUI. d) If uninstalling SAPGUI 7.20 Delete the folder; i) C:\Users\%user%\AppData\Roaming\SAP e) Delete from the Registry (backup your registry first): i) HKey_Current User\Software\SAP (the whole folder) ii) HKey_Local Machine\Software\SAP (the whole folder) f) Open, using Notepad, services file located under C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc g) Remove lines that start with sapdp, sapgw, & sapms h) Save file 2) Reboot Step 2. Step 1. Uninstall the SAP GUI: 1) Log on to the PC or Workstation as user with local administrator rights

a) Disable UAC b) Go to Add/Remove software in your Control panel, and uninstall both

i) SAPGUI 7.10 ii) SAP Business Explorer

c) Delete the folder C:\Program files\SAP (the whole folder)

(1) Do this for each user profile on the computer using SAP GUI. d) If uninstalling SAPGUI 7.20 Delete the folder;

Step 2. Install the SAP GUI: 1) Log on to PC as user with local admin rights

2) Ensure all applications are closed. A/V software should be OK to leave running.

3) Disable the User Account Control (UAC). To disable UAC in:

a) VISTA: i) Launch MSCONFIG from the Run menu.

ii) Click on the Tools tab.

iii) Scroll down till you find "Disable UAC".

iv) Click on that line.

v) Press the Launch button. vi) A CMD window will open. When the command is done, you can close the window.

vii) Close MSCONFIG.

viii) You need to reboot the computer for changes to apply.

b) WINDOWS 7: i) Click on Start

ii) Click on Control Panel

iii) Click on System and Security

iv) In the Action Center section, click on Change User Account Control Settings.

v) Drag the slider to “Never Notify”.

vi) Click OK.

vii) The system will prompt you to reboot. 4) Make sure the install files have been UNZIPPED. Do not attempt to install software from a compressed

file.

5) Double Click the file SAPGUI720Installer.CMD

a) Wait for install to complete…

6) Copy the SAPLOGON.ini file to C:\Windows

a) The SAPLOGON.ini file cannot be downloaded from the DES website. You can request one from DES or you can copy the file from another computer already running SAP GUI.

7) Enable UAC if previously disabled and desired

8) To run SAP GUI, click on Start >> All Programs >> SAP Frontend >> SAP Logon Pad
