Synopsis of session
Technology is changing where, what, how and when we learn. Web 2.0 tools have the power to connect students, enabling them to communicate, collaborate and create on a scale that is yet to be fully envisaged. Listen to some stories from Anne’s classroom, where students have personalised learning, can and will access learning 24/ 7 and learn anytime, anywhere, often with their proud parents watching on. Elluminate virtual classroom software means that students in remote rural, culturally and geographically isolated schools can connect to many communities. Global classrooms mean students of many other cultures/religions/languages can share their (common) passions through conversations and learn from each other’s experiences. Let Anne share astonishing outcomes with you.

I introduced myself first and they proceeded on asking me questions, a lot of questions. I did my best to answer all of them like what sports we play, how cold it is here, what we do on weekends, what our schools are like, what are homes are like, and many other things. We had a lot of fun talking with each other and I LOVE their accent. We ended up talking for an hour. I told them that I wanted to eventually go to Australia and they couldn’t figure out why. They also asked me about what it was like in university and why it was fun. I told them, and asked them if they were planning on going to university and they all said no which was very surprising to me. They said the nearest university was too far away..3 hours. I found this kind of funny because i know alot of people who live farther then that away from home. I live 2 1/2 hours away, but I guess their culture and stuff is just different. Anyways I found this experience so much fun and very interesting, it is so much different there than here, if you ever get the chance to do something like this, i believe you should definately do it.
