THE ARTISTIC POLICY OF THE FESTIVAL

• From the website: “Our aim is to screen great films in appropriate (and often unusual) locations in and around Winchester.”

• They will set the venues to make it an unusual place to watch which, if chosen correctly, can be very atmospheric. They want to make the experience of watching a film exciting and by choosing unusual locations they encourage people to come and watch the film even if they have it at home themselves.

• All the films they will show are either Classics or Cult Classics. They have chosen to screen these films because they are unusual films that made an impact on society when the were filmed. They also introduce new films that people may not have seen or heard of before.

HOW IT IS FUNDED?

• The event is funded by the following companies:

• Wickham Vineyards

• Hampshire County Council

• HMV

• Film Hampshire

• These companies give money to produce the festival and in return their company is promoted at the festival. They may also get a percentage of the money raised at the festival.

• Another way it is funded is by ticket sales. When you buy a ticket to see a film the money you give goes towards putting on the festival. The total amount of money raised will go to a charity of their choice. Last year it went to the Winchester Churches.
