Why Is There Such A Big Difference Between Smart And Slow Students In Most

Secondary Schools These Days

Students in secondary level have to compete with each other in terms of scores to get into

universities. However, the ability of every student is different, there are smart and slow

students. Smart students can easily understand any subjects that the teacher has explained,

while this condition is not always experienced by slow students. This essay shall explore some

reasons why there is a big difference between smart and slow students in secondary schools

these days.

Firstly, there must be something wrong with the educational system, as it plays an important

role in school. Therefore, any mistakes of the educational system can be fatal to students. For

example, there is a big difference between plus and regular classes. Plus classes are filled with

smart students, while regular classes are filled with slow students. This condition can make

smart students become smarter while slow students become slower.

Secondly, family can be one of the factors why students can become smart or slow. As most

students get their first-hand knowledge about school from their parents, their intelligence can

be different one to another. For example, parents with only one child tend to be overprotective

to their child and always help their child to do something. Hence, most of these children could

become slow.

Finally, friend can also become one of the contributing factors why students become either

smart or slow. Since students are always surrounded their friends who have different rates of

intelligence. They can become smart or slow depending on whom they befriend.

In a nutshell, it is clear that there is a big difference between smart and slow students in

secondary school these days. Slow students do not always mean that they are intellectually

deficient. By doing it right, slow students can encounter their difficulties of understanding any

subjects that the teacher has explained.
