PDHPE stands for, Personal Development, Health and Physical

Education!

The school’s need only 2 hours of physical exercise a week.

However it is known that children need about 60 minutes of exercise daily!

PDHPE is one of the six key learning area’s covered in the K – 6 Syllabus.

PDHPE is not just about sport.

It also teaches safe practices and healthy habits, such as washing your hands, brushing your teeth, crossing the road etc..

Children need to develop healthy habits from a young age so as these habits become just that, a habit. PDHPE needs to have a larger role within primary school.

Not just sport...
