WHY IS INCLINED UPWARD RUBBER TAPPING TECHNOLOGY OR IUT TECHNOLOGY THE SCIENTIFIC TECHNOLOGY ?

On a rubber tree which is the oldest part of the tree? Is it the topmost part ? Is it the lowest growing tip of the root? Not at all. Then which is it? It is the collar region of the stem portion adjoining the soil surface which is the oldest part of the tree. So it is the same portion with the highest bark thickness highest quantity of laticiferous tissue with highest number of vessel rows total number of vessels , quantity of latex and dry rubber content of latex.

Which is the portion where tapping has to commence?

Hence which is the portion on the tree where latex extraction process or tapping has to commence?No doubt it is none other than the lower most portion of the stem above ground level indeed!

Which should be the direction of proceeding of the latex extraction

process or tapping?

It is none other than towards the top alone , no doubt.The tree is growing up above , the bark is attaining maturity from bottom to top and hence our latex extraction process starting from bottom must invariably proceed upwards and upwards alone.SO IT IS IMPERATIVE THAT RUBBER TAPPING HAS TO BE FROM BOTTOM UPWARDS AND UPWARDS ONLY!

It should never be downwards!In addition since the latex bearing vessels inside the bark are oriented at an angle inclined to the vertical towards the right side it is to be remembered that the tapping panel also has to be inclined parallel to the inclination of the latex vessels. That means that the rubber tapping has invariably to be upward only on inclined panel, that is by INCLINED UPWARD TAPPING technology alone.This being the fact, instead of carrying out IUT ,following the existing Downward Vertical Tapping , is it not highly unscientific and nonsensical indeed? It is interesting to note that from 1890- 91 onwards the technology existing all over the world is by downward vertical tapping technology developed by H.N. Ridley which is highly unscientific nonsensical and hence in effect a Terminator technology which is highly hazardous to the rubber plantation industry as a whole.It is the very same Terminator Technology which is fully responsible for the Tapping panel dryness of the rubber tree which is responsible for all the problems in the rubber plantation industry at present . The cause of the problem was considered to be unknown so far!It has been proved conclusively that the whole problems leading to the low drc of latex , stoppage of latex flow, later burr and swelling formation and total debilitation resembling the symptoms of filariasis and leprosy combined in the case of human beings thus leading to total TPD of the trees is created solely due to the existing terminator technology alone!As a result of enhanced TPD the frequency of tapping had to be reduced to once in 3,4 or even 7 days with the use of hazardous yield stimulant Ethephon or Ethrel. Since the tappable trees got reduced and consequently tapping days also got reduced the population of tappers over 56 % left the field in search of greener pastures resulting in severe scarcity of labourers.

The carcinogenicity of the chemical yield stimulant

The chemical yield stimulant Ethrel-2 chloro ethyl phosphonic acid being a Persistant Organic Pollutant-pop- and an organohalogen compound is carcinogenic and endocrine disruptor and it is responsible for the very high percentage of cancer cases in the state at present warranting RCC’s in many districts . The bioaccumulating and biomagnifying POP will pollute the whole water bodies and there after the plants and animals using the water and man being at the top of the food chain will have the highest concentration which will

definitely lead to cancer. The process is already going on for the last many decades unhindered.

Effect on the life of the trees

The rubber trees grow for over 100 years in its natural habitat in the Amazon river basin but their life has been cut short to 25 or at the most 30 years by the use of the Terminator technology. Hence it is adversely affecting the afforestation and thereby aiding in Global Warming as well.

How the two Terminators ,the TERMINATOR tapping TECHNOLOGY AND

THE TERMINATOR CLONES combined together have affected the rubber

production?

Consequent on the denial of the highly innovative IUT technology by the Rubber Board to the rubber growers and still practicing the Terminator Technology combined with the active popularization of highly hazardous Terminator clones the latest development is that during 2014 the average rubber production has gone down from 1800 kg to 1600 kg for the first time in the history of rubber plantation industry and the price also being very low a good number of rubber growers have started cutting down their rubber trees and switched on to real estate ventures and growing other crops thereby adversely affecting rubber plantation and at the same time highly hazardous to the Western Ghats, the backbone of S . India by enhancing quarrying which tells heavily on the ghats and is hazardous for the inhabitants living around.

What is the remedy?

The ready remedy is IUT and IUT alone no doubt.It will totally prevent Tapping Panel Dryness and all bark infections thereby eliminating the use of any stimulant or fungicide totally. Thereby converting rubber cultivation into a total organic farming.The yield will be 3 to 4 times more all through out.The economic life span of the tree will enhance to 4 times upto roughly 100 years .The tappers’ wages will increase by three times.Will enhance biomass production tremendously.Will help in eliminating the ill effects of global warming.

Soil erosion and landslide will be prevented.Will favour the health of western ghats.

In a nutshell it is not that IUT has to be practiced. It is essential that if you have

got rubber you will have to harvest them only using the innovative technology

of IUT and IUT alone.
