About usEurofork S.p.A., founded in year 2000, is an Italian company which produces automatic handling systems. With its over 20 years of know-how gained in the handling field, Eurofork today is one of the leading players on the global market concerning the production of handling devices, for both number of units produced and for its turnover.

In addition to Telescopic forks division, the company boasts two other areas: Service department that deals with after sales assistance, maintenance, and selling of spare parts, and shuttle systems division, specialized in the design and manufacture of shuttle systems for multi depth automated warehouses.

ESMARTSHUTTLE has been awarded from the European Technology Platform on Smart Systems Integration (EPoSS) institute with the Smart System Integrated (SSI) trademark. The SSI mark is given to all those products that reflect the characteristics of innovation, reliability, solidity and high market value.Shuttle warehouses work 24/7 controlled by a centralized management system which is remotely accessible. The maximum payload of a standard ESMARTSHUTTLE is 1500 kg (3300 lb); a special version for 2000 kg (4400 lb) is available.

Standard working temperature range stands between 0 and +45°C (+32 ÷ 113°F); a special version for frozen warehouses (-30°C / -22°F) is available.

A narrow version of the satellite is supplied when a 1000 mm (39 ½ inches) width pallets shall be stored.

Eurofork is willing to support System Integrators to find the best solution for their multi-depth warehouses, as any technology cannot be always the best choice.

According to layout design and required throughput, Eurofork suggests the right Shuttle configuration, allowing System Integrators to realize LIFO or FIFO management in the most dimensional and cost-effective way.ESMARTSHUTTLE cycle time calculation is in accordance with latest FEM 9.860 rule and, additionally, it considers waiting times. Furthermore, a comparison between ESMARTSHUTTLE system and stacker cranes + StackerSAT systems can be done to make sure System Integrators provide their customers with the best multi-depth technology for the specific project.

ESMARTSHUTTLE works with any kind of third party pallet lifter and Shuttle lifter that meets specific requirements.

Depending on ESMARTSHUTTLE system configuration, one or more of the following are applied:

• Pallet lifter: used to handle pallets only. (configurations A and B)• Simple Shuttle lifter: used by ESMARTSHUTTLE to move among levels (configuration B)• Shuttle conveyors lifter: used to lift 1 to 3 pallets and ESMARTSHUTTLE (configuration C)

WCS Light

WCS Light is an “order executor”: it creates the sequences of micro-missions to complete the tasks received by the upper level software (position A to position B movement).WCS Light manages the eventual traffic issues caused by ESMARTSHUTTLE level change needs, leaving System Integrator the sole duty of optimization and storage efficiency.WCS always comes with an Host module, to customize the data exchange with the upper level software.Synoptic 2D layout and basic Human-Machine Interfaces complete the supply of this option.

WCS Plus

WCS Plus is the “decision maker” of the warehouse: it gets only PutAway/Retrieve lists from the upper level software, then optimization and storage efficiency are automatically managed.With this option every position and destination in the warehouse is under WCS control.Customized Host, Synoptic 2D layout and Human-Machine Interfaces are included in this scope.

Management

Eurofork has created two versions of WCS (Warehouse control System) to make System Integrators comfortable with ESMARTSHUTTLE machines.

WCS is developed with Microsoft .NET Framework, anyway it can also exchange data with Unix/Linux systems. WCS assures a fast-start up with limited integrations activities.

Software interfaces

Operator Panel

It is the control interface for each machine running in the warehouse. It contains all the status information of position, sensors and battery. It allows to switch from automatic to manual mode and to set all dynamics parameters.Moreover, a detailed list of machine eventual alarm status can be consulted for a fast resolution.

Synoptic Layout

It shows the real-time condition of the warehouse, where all machines and pallets on each level can be seen. By clicking on a single pallet, all information transferred to Eurofork’s WCS from the upper software level (pallet number, batch info, etc.) will be displayed.

Operators have the full system control by using the above mentioned tools in combination with all client interfaces.

The goal of ESMARTSHUTTLE system is to reduce the maintenance time.A strategic control cabinet has been designed for a fast and easy replacement: the removed cabinet can be conveniently checked and/or fixed outside the warehouse.Each ESMARTSHUTTLE machine can be electrically moved using a joystick for maintenance operations which need to be plugged in the proper socket onboard.
