Persuasive Writing…• Also called Argument Writing• Presents reasons and examples to create an

argument in order to influence thoughts or actions

• Requires investigation of a topic AND establishing a position based on evidence from that research

• Warning: Persuasive Writing requires more research and the presentation of evidence than Expository Writing. Persuasive Writing is often longer in length.
