Why did Google put these sites on Page 1? Because Google thought they were the most relevant results!(If Google don’t deliver relevant results, people will stop using them.)

Why?

Two reasons:1. The page was highly relevant to “Simple CMS”2. The page / website has good authority around the

web for Content Management

Relevant = “on page SEO”Authority = “Backlinks from relevant high Authority sites” (…and currency, presence, social activity, and more…) (click to continue)

On-Page SEOPlace the keyword prominently (e.g. in bold or italics) in the natural language text and most importantly in the HTML tags for Title, Description, Alt, Links and H1

Don’t overdo the keywords!

Google use “semantic” algorithms and Artificial Inteligence to deduce the “meaning” of your web page; so use natural language, stick to the topic and use synonyms.

Review

The searcher KNOWS what she wants.(although it may not be what she needs)

Google finds a PAGE and displays a Snippet designed to entice the searcher.

The PAGE is called a “Landing Page”. Ideally this should be all about the keywords used by the searcher, have clear calls to action and simple navigation to the rest of the site.
