why acknowledge the night sky
DESCRIPTION
This EPQ will discuss the cultural and scientific importance of the night sky, from our ancestors to the present day. It will discuss astrophotography as a means of acknowledging the cosmos, and as a method of using the sky above us to advance science. I will show how I have used my photographs to analyse scientific data. If we acknowledge the importance of the night sky, then we must consider the greatest threat to it: light pollution. Because of light pollution, the night sky is a diminishing resource.TRANSCRIPT
