MY RESULTS FROM CHANNEL 4’S ‘FIND MY TRIBE’

From my research on Channel 4’s Find my Tribe, I have found out that my tribe as a person on YouTube is a vlogger which is described in the reference below. This is the tribe of myself as an individual whereas I need to find my audience members as a tribe which can be related to my tribe as a vlogger. The audience from my results have to be interacted with as a vlogger and this will influence what my tribe members/ audience will be like and how it can affect the views and other effects of my videos. As well as the results about me show that the OTS I made will be a chance for me to be known around my audience which adds to who my audience will be aimed at.

INFORMATION/ REASONS ABOUT THE TARGET AUDIENCEoI choose my audience as 16+ as most horror films now are rated R, 13 and even some at 16 and 18

due to the BBFC standards.oThe horror films that are often popular with my target audience as part of the social standards from others due to the gore and horror involved with the films. The most popular horror films of the target audience is all targeted at the ages of 16 or above which links to my target audience including The Conjuring 2, The Witch and The Shining.oMy research of horror films gains the insight of my audience through the genre is a way that I can find my audience out, another way that I can find my audience is by interactive questionnaires. The audiences I have interviewed or told my content to is around my age from 13 – 18 which also impacts on my target audience. oThe other reasons why it I made it as a 16+ is due to how the successful horror films which are popular as well is around the age of 16 and is exhibited to the teenage and adult audience which influences the choice on me. Yet, some successful films are aimed at the younger audiences like Goosebumps.o The horror film Opening Title Sequence of mine doesn’t include real blood or any violence which is also why my target audience at 16+.

HOW THE BBFC AFFECTS MY PERFECT AUDIENCE MEMBER Due to the classification of the BBFC who put ratings and classes onto the films to rate if the film is appropriate for the intended audience and overall audience based on the content of the film, I am rating my horror OTS as part of my horror film, a 15/18 classification.

This is because of my OTS and eventually my actual film will include some things which might scare/ threaten or be considered as inappropriate for younger ages especially due to it being around the genre horror. The BBFC counts a 15 film as along as I have no sexualised threats or sadistic threat which I wouldn’t have yet it allows strong threat and horror which will be the main part of my OTS. The use of horror is to influence the genre along with gaining tension, mystery and fear into the audience or at least a response to ensure I met the horror conventions. Yet I also said it would be considered an 18 for the included use of gore through blood and animal bones in my OTS to portray the genre in a stereotypical way with extreme violence in some cases and extreme use of gore and horror which supports my idea of having a horror –themed OTS based on a crazed mechanic who in his spare time murders for fun.
