Christ: from Greek word ‘christos’. ‘christos’: from Hebrew word for Messiah.Messiah: ‘anointed one’.

Jesus Charges Disciples To Remain Silent

Why?

They know he is the Christ but not what it means, or what he must do.

This is a strong rebuke from Peter to Jesus.

Peter & the disciples do not understand the concept of a ‘suffering messiah’.

Peter meant well, his intentions were sincere.

Jesus refers to Peter as Satan. Jesus saw Peter’s suggestion as a

temptation.

What Was Peter’s Main Issue?

Peter did not have his mind set on the ways of God, he had his mind set on the ways of man.

Set your minds on the ways and things of God, not the ways and things of man.
