We advised on a portfolio of business parks, securing planning permissions to allow the parks to evolve from single use regional employment sites to more sustainable mixed use communities. Goodman has been a pioneer in this respect, delivering some of the UK’s first truly mixed-use sites.

At Gloucester Business Park we advised upon and prepared the planning case for the release of 10ha of employment land for a district centre comprising a food store, hotel, leisure facilities, cafes, restaurants, a range of smaller retail units, 150 new homes and care uses. We coordinated the various planning applications that enabled early delivery of key elements. The district centre known as Whittle Square now contains a Tesco foodstore, Premier Inn, Brewers Fayre, the Gloucestershire Health and Racquets Club, and a range of smaller retail units of between 500sqft and 6,800sqft, with apartments above.

Whittle Square is located at the entrance to the business park, and also serves the wider community at Brockworth and Hucclecote.
