Carried byJoe Th mm3. Interest on Farm Properties - drought compensationMs. Mantifel informed the Committee that she had contacted several municipalities andTownships ofHorton, McNab/Braeside, Brudenell, Lyndoch, Raglan, Admaston/Bromleyand Laurentian Valley had not instigated any tax deferrals.

Ms. Mantifel informed the Committee that North Algona Wilberforce did defer payments,but only last year's final instalment.Ms. Mantifel also informed the Committee that Bonnechere Valley had passed a By-Lawthat deferred their October 31, 2012 due date to June 28, 2013, but it was for the landclass FT and if the land w as classed RT a nd Ft, it pertained to the FT portion.Ms. Mantifel stated that other businesses were affected and the Township does not writeoff penalty for them.Ms. Mantifel informed the Committee that there had been one call.Mayor Labow stated that this could be handled at the Committee level and then be putinto a policy.Mayor Labow stated that the request should come in writ ing and be treated on anindividual basis.CAO stated to deal with the situation as it comes and to have it sent in writing.

4. OPP Costing - Contract vs. new Police Board Structure working withneighbouring municipalitiesMs. Mantifel went over the 2013 Policing Cost Estimate.Ms. Mantifel went over the comparison graphs estimated Policing costs from the years2008 to 2013 to show the increases. She then went over the Actual Policing Cost's for2001 and 2012.Ms. Mantifel then explained the graph that contained the breakdown of exactly what theTownship is being charged for Policing.Deputy Mayor McBride questioned what happens if more officers are brought in to covera special happening and we have a contract, do we pay for the extra officers?Mayor Labow questioned if the Township went with a contract, would the Township knowthe exact cost for budget purposes?Ms. Mantifel informed the Committee that the Township always receives a reconciliationthat comes in h/vo amounts and at the budget time both these amounts are know.Councillor Trimm questioned Councillor Dick as to his progress on the contractinvestigation.Councillor Dick informed the Committee that he is still researching and will bring hisfindings to a meeting as soon as possible.
