Whenever I go to the beach, I always take a picnic with lots of delicious

snacks! Design your own seaside pic-nic, you might like to take:

Sandwiches, drinks, fruit, vegetables, sweets, crisps, chocolates.

NOT TOO MANY THOUGH! LETS KEEP IT HEALTHY You could even do this in your garden or kitchen at home! A day at the seaside, from home!

Which beach are you going too?

What games and activities are you taking with you?

What do you plan on building or making at the beach?

What foods, snacks and drinks will you take?

What do you need to take to keep you safe and protected at your beach?

Is there any special wildlife you want to take pictures of while at the beach?

INVENT A NEW GAME TO PLAY AT THE BEACH

Firstly, think up some games that you may play at the beach. There is beach volley-ball, frisbee, catch and many many more. Could you come up with a new game?

What is your new game called?

What are the rules?

What equipment do we need?

To challenge yourself, could you write this up as a set of instructions?

EYE SPY seaside version.

Research what you would see at the seaside. Use this research to come up with a range of different eye spy lines. See if someone at home could answer them.

POSTER DESIGN

Design a poster which explains to people that we must keep beaches clean and how we can do this. Research how we can keep beaches clean best first.

OR you could create a poster to advertise going to the beach in Harwich!!

Can you create an acrostic poem for the word LIGHTHOUSE?

These poems require you to use each letter in the word to be the first letter of each line. An example follows for SAND

Beach themed art!

Using some ideas below, can you create your own beach art? You could base it on a creature found at the beach or in the sea, or create a picture of the beach!

At the beach, everyone loves to make sandcastles. Unfortunately, we can’t go to the beach at the moment to make one so,

lets bring the seaside home and build our own castles! You can use LEGO, card-board or any resources you have access to

at home. A mud cas-tle would be my per-sonal preference!

At the beach, I like to play Volleyball with friends or family, we hit the ball over a net back and forward to each other. If you can, have a try. Use a wash line as your rope and gently begin by throwing that ball back and forth to each other. As you be-come more confident, have a try and push-ing it over to each other. You don’t even need a net, you could simply push a ball back and forth.
