therein lies the danger.There s the danger of our ego gettingout of hand. We start craving therecognition more and more.Theres the danger of keeping the statusquo. When we think we know it all this is treacherous ground. This younormally find in the narcissist.Theres the danger of others giving youtoo much control over their lives. Itsdangerous for them because they neverget empowered. And its dangerous foryou because the more control you have,the more temptation you have to abuseit. The much-used saying applies here:Power corrupts, absolute power

corrupts absolutely.Finding another room with people waysmarter than you is a big fat adventure.You expose yourself to more. You learnmore. You realise that there is more thanone viewpoint (and, yours might not bethe best). You evolve. You grow.But heres the thing. All of us are thesmartest person in the room. It justdepends which room were in.Unfortunately, were conditioned to thinkthat those that get good marks at schoolare clever and those that dont (let menot sugar coat it) are stupid.This thinking is flawed. Some top studentsare really good at memorising large tractsof information over the shortterm. Justlong enough to get it out onto an exampaper. But, have they really internalisedthe knowledge so that it can be useful inthe future? Or have they just parrotedit? So, there are different kinds ofsmart. Would you call Pablo Picasso,who has gifted the world with some ofthe most compelling art stupid becausehe couldnt figure out 176 x 14?I know that when I get a plumber in tofix something in my house, right then Imcertainly not the smartest person in theroom.

We are all smart in our own way. But thereally smart folk know that they hardlyknow anything and they are able tohumble themselves enough to learn fromothers.So, go and find yourself another roombecause adventure and growth awaitsyou.
