VETERINARIAN

• I am not exactly sure what I want to be when I grow up, but I think I would enjoy being a veterinarian.

• I love animals and I like to help out others. I think having these characteristics would be helpful in the job of a veterinarian.

• A veterinarian takes care of animals. They are like doctors, but for animals. They help make sure animals are healthy.

PROS AND CONS

• Some of the pros to being a veterinarian include: a good salary, the opportunity to help animals, and to help people feel good because you helped out their animal.

• One of the cons to being a veterinarian is that I would have to go to school for a very long time!

• To be a veterinarian requires 4 years of college and 4 years of veterinarian school.

WHY DO I NEED MATH

• Being a veterinarian requires various math skills.

• One of the main uses of math for a veterinarian is figuring doses. Medication doses are determined by an animal’s weight.

• Veterinarians have to be able to use formulas to figure how much medicine to give to an animal based on how much it weighs.
