Belshazzar profaned things God declared holy.

Daniel 1:1–2 In the third year of the reign of Jehoiakim king of Judah, Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came to Jerusalem and besieged it. The Lord gave Jehoiakim king of Judah into his hand,

along with some of the vessels of the house of God;

and he brought them to the land of Shinar, to the house of his god, and he brought the vessels into the treasury of his god.

Leviticus 8:10–11 Then Moses took the anointing oil and anointed the Tabernacle and everything in it, making them holy. He sprinkled the oil on the altar seven times, anointing it and all its utensils, as well as the washbasin and its stand, making

them holy.

2 Chronicles 7:16 For I have chosen this Temple and set it apart to be holy—a place where my name will be honored forever. I will always watch over it, for it is dear to my heart.

God declares Believers in Christ to be holy.

1 Corinthians 6:19–20 Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.

Satan, the accuser, deceiver, father of lies, tells us we are ours and God can’t tell us what to do.

2 Timothy 2:20–21 In a wealthy home some utensils are made of gold and silver, and some are made of wood and clay. The expensive utensils are used for special occasions, and the cheap ones

are for everyday use. If you keep yourself pure, you will be a special utensil for honorable use.

Your life will be clean, and you will be ready for the Master to use you for every good work.

Ours is a culture hell-bent on forcing God out.

Psalm 50:21 “…You thought that I was just like you; I will reprove you and state the case in order before your eyes.”

1 Corinthians 6:12–18 You say, “I am allowed to do anything”—but not everything is good for you. And even though “I am allowed to do anything,” I must not become a slave to

anything. You say, “Food was made for the stomach, and the stomach for food.”

(This is true, though someday God will do away with both of them.) But you can’t say that our bodies were made for sexual immorality. They were made for the Lord, and the Lord

cares about our bodies.

And God will raise us from the dead by his power, just as he raised our Lord from the dead. Don’t you realize that your bodies are actually parts of Christ? Should a man take his body,

which is part of Christ, and join it to a prostitute? Never!

And don’t you realize that if a man joins himself to a prostitute, he becomes one body with her? For the Scriptures say, “The two are united into one.” But the person who is joined to the Lord is one spirit with him. Run from sexual sin! No other sin so clearly affects the body as this one does. For sexual immorality is a sin against your own body.

The Desecrated can be Consecrated again

Ezra 1:2 “This is what Cyrus king of Persia says: “ ‘The LORD, the God of heaven, has given me all the kingdoms of the earth and he has appointed me to build a temple for him at Jerusalem in Judah.

Ezra 1:7–8 Moreover, King Cyrus brought out the articles belonging to the temple of the LORD, which Nebuchadnezzar had carried away from Jerusalem and had placed in the temple of his god. Cyrus king of Persia had them brought by Mithredath the treasurer,

who counted them out to Sheshbazzar the prince of Judah.

Ezra 8:28–29 And [Ezra] said to them, “You are holy to the LORD, and the vessels are holy, and the silver and the gold are a freewill offering to the LORD, the God of your fathers. Guard them and keep them until you weigh them before the chief priests and the Levites and the heads of fathers’ houses in Israel at Jerusalem, within the chambers of the house of the LORD.”

1 Corinthians 6:11 Some of you were once like that. But you were cleansed; you were made holy; you were made right with God by calling on the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.
