! Karaoke contestants pose in their Tota!y Rad 80’s outfits as they await their turn to rock the stage! The UIW faculty, administration, sta$, and students went back in time as the top 80’s hits were heard across campus. ! Bodacious babes and radical dudes moved and grooved to the sounds of the pocket protecter wearing nerds,
the Spazmatics! These “not so fly like your typical boy band guys” kept everyone energized and
singing to their favorite 80’s tunes.

! UIW students are encouraged to participate in the Alamo Heights Night® 2012 logo
contest. The logo should include some reference to the event and year of the event. All finished

CARDINAL WELLNESS PROGRAM
A group of committed students, supported by various faculty and departments has come together to start a wellness program available to all UIW students and faculty. What is wellness, you ask? It’s simple. Wellness = living a healthy lifestyle.
The program will run for 10 weeks %9/07/11 " 11/16/11&. During these ten weeks, participants will be encouraged to take advantage of their resources on campus; such as the Wellness Center & Natatorium, Intramural Sports, Rockin’ Red Birds Marathon group, and Wellness Classes %zumba, yoga, etc.& Educational and health awareness information concerning nutrition and exercise will
be provided throughout the duration of the program.
What’s the BONUS? Participants will be awarded points based on their active participation and will be
eligible to win prizes such as spurs tickets, gift cards, and other incentives to help motivate and inspire change for a healthy lifestyle.

On Saturday, August 27th, 2011 the gentlemen of Kappa Sigma Fraternity were honored to celebrate their historic chapter charter. The University of the Incarnate Word colony is now recognized as the Rho Upsilon Chapter becoming the 359th nationally recognized chapter of Kappa Sigma.
Comprised of 35 founding fathers, the Rho Upsilon Chapter is dedicated to the Greek Life community at UIW and being leaders on campus through their e$orts of upholding their four fraternal pillars; fellowship, leadership, scholarship, and service.
