266 CREATlVl’lY AND INNOVATION MANAGEMENT What’s Going On Creatividad Aplicada Total (Master Santiago de Internacional), Universidad - de Cornpestella unique Masters programme in ‘Total A Creativity’ is on offer to hispanic- speaking students from all over the world. The programme is the vision of Dr. David de Prado, of the University’s faculty of phil- osophy of education (pedagogy). The programme involves two years of studies on set assignments, which are con- ducted in distance-learning mode. Addition- ally the students attend two one-month seminars of intensive work, in the months of July. The students who set out on the in- augural course in 1994 have been scheduled to complete in 1996. Students are already signing up from Latin America, South America, as well as from Spain and Portugal. In our workshops we found representatives who were of various ages from their mid-twenties to mid-fifties. They brought experiences from work in the media (journalists and TV producers), teachers, psychologists, and . They had come from Brazil, Mexico, Portugal, Argentina, Colombia, and of course, Spain. A valuable asset for the course, is that the region of Galaicia is one which is able to work easily in both Spanish and Portuguese traditions. The faculty for the July seminars is drawn from the leading Hispanic practitioners and academics, and also from other European and North American countries. Thus the students receive a truly international per- spective. The teaching language is Spanish (with translators for the presentations of guest lecturers using other languages, mostly English). Interestingly, French seems a pretty good second language of communications. Additional benefits are accruing as the course reaches out into the local business community. Opportunities are being devel- oped for practical activities within industrial companies, and for mutual exchange of ideas. For example, in July 1995, the Masters programme joined with local business execu- tives for additional sessions with a more commercial orientation.
