CELEBRATE GOD'S GOODNESS-MISSION GRANT RECEIVED! MID-ATLANTIC LUTHERANS IN MISSION (MALIM) has awarded OSL a $50,000 grant for parking lot/recreation space refurbishment! With the assistance of Dr. Chris Johnston, Principal Klug submitted our application on May 1st and we received the check in July. The proposal is to enhance our current playground and improve its overall safety. The project would take place over a three-year period. Year one is focusing on the paving of our parking lot, which is used every school day as part of the playground and for physical education. We would like to dress the parking lot with lines for certain outdoor recess/PE activities. Additionally, paving would im-prove the safety by offering a smooth surface for running. A second year of a $25,000 matching grant has also been awarded to address the current playground structures, additions of new playground structures (swings and/or Gaga Court) and the addition of new mulch, top soil and sod to fix holes and ruts in the grassy are-as. Year three may focus on replacement of the security fence. MALIM offers grants for Lutheran schools serving children in grades K-8 thanks to a very generous gift from the Luther Memorial School Foundation in Richmond, VA for the purpose of enhancing the ministry of nurture and outreach of Lutheran schools. PROJECT DETAILS: The parking lot repaving will take place beginning Monday, August 12th. Starting that day, no one should drive or walk on the lot before Fri-day, Aug. 16. You are welcome to access the school building or church by parking on the street. Enter the school building after walking down the sidewalk. Enter the church build-ing through the front sanctuary doors. For the first few days, even walking on the new pavement can make it less smooth and create imperfections. Please utilize the front, street sidewalk to cross between buildings. Watch for updates on our facebook pages as the work progresses.
SYNODICAL CONVENTION UPDATE: James Bodling has returned from Tampa after serving as our circuit of churches’ lay delegate. Watch for a time in the future to hear about what transpired and how we can move forward in mission with our church body! OSSM YOUTH RETURN FROM NYG WITH JOY & GRATITUDE! (and sleepy eyes-their flight was delayed) Our OSSM youth thank everyone for their support in enabling them to attend the National Youth Gathering this summer! Watch for a time on a fu-ture Sunday to hear about their experience and receive their thanks!

Grace and Peace to you in the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ! This year’s school theme is Rescued based on Isaiah 46:4b. It says, "I have made you and I will carry you; I will sustain you and I will rescue you." It will be exciting to see how God uses this theme and verse to draw us closer to Him in the coming year. It is always a blessing to see how God works through the teachers and staff to share the theme through bulletin boards, de-votions, and chapel talks. Faculty and Staff Our school is truly blessed to have dedicated, experienced, and loving faculty and staff mem-bers who are committed to offering students a strong, traditional academic curriculum that challenges and prepares students for future educational experiences. These fine Christian men and women will share how we are Rescued daily through their minis-try to the children and families of Our Savior. Please take a moment to pray for our staff and especially the new faces who will be part of our ministry team for this coming school year. We welcome Allison Krome who has accepted our call to serve as Our Savior's 4th grade teacher. Ally has been teaching at Lamb of God Lutheran Church and School in Las Vegas, NV. Contributions can be made by cash, check, money order, or online (go to the church site www.osva.org and select the tab for online giving). All checks should be made payable to Our Savior Lutheran Church and School. Please note the Annual School Fund in the memo of your check. Thank you so much for your support of our school!
