Safety relay PNOZsigma – Speed monitor PNOZ s30 with new functionality

Safety relay

The safe speed monitor PNOZ s30

enables you to monitor standstill,

speed, speed range, position,

direction of rotation and shear pin

breakage up to PL e/SIL CL 3.

From version 3.0, PNOZ s30 has

a configurable analogue output.

The analogue output passes on the

safely measured speed to the controller

as a proportional signal of 0 … 20 or

4 … 20 mA, making it possible

to use the speed directly for process

monitoring. The safely monitored

speed can be displayed and observed

directly on operator and monitoring

devices, e.g. the operator terminals

PMI. Thanks to the analogue output

you do not need to use additional

sensors for speed detection. You can

interlink up to three functions by

AND/OR logic; AND and OR can also

be combined. Broken shearpin

monitoring already cuts in at a frequency

of 10 mHz (previously 70 mHz). This

also enables extremely slow-running

applications.

Your benefits at a glance

• Productivity is increased by avoiding unnecessary shutdown processes:

PNOZ s30 indicates overshooting and undershooting of defined warning

thresholds by means of a safe output signal

• Increases safety for operating personnel

• Implementation of safety functions that are laid down in

the standard EN 61800-5-2 for adjustable speed electrical power

drive systems

• Direct use of the safely measured speed by means of handover to

higher level PLC controller for process monitoring via analogue output

• Reduced wiring work, fewer wiring errors thanks to AND/OR logic

• User-friendly diagnostics: direct display of the safe speed on operator

and monitoring devices

• Easy configuration by rotary knob on illuminated display

• Time savings when setting up and commissioning thanks to storage

of parameters on a chip card

Configurable control systems PNOZmulti 2 with safe communication via SafetyNET p

PNOZmulti 2 is the latest generation

of the configurable small controllers

PNOZmulti. Two base units with

different features take charge of your

automation tasks. You can now link

up to 16 of these base units via the

safe real-time Ethernet SafetyNET p.

Use the expansion module

PNOZ m EF SafetyNET to achieve

this. In the first step, you can perform

linking using linear topology. 32-bit

data is exchanged via RTFL for short

scan times in practice. A clearly

structured data interface where the

inputs are configured with 128 bit and

the outputs with 32 bit characterises

the data link.

The software tool PASconnect is used

for configuration of a SafetyNET p

network and for project linking.

The input/output image is imported

into PASconnect from a safety

circuit created using the PNOZmulti

Configurator and mapped on the

input/output image of the PNOZmulti

systems to be linked. After upload

into the PNOZmulti systems, the

SafetyNET p network is ready to use.

Configurable control systems

Your benefits at a glance

• Safe communication via the real-time Ethernet SafetyNET p

• Up to 16 PNOZmulti systems in linear topology

• Fast RTFL communication with short scan times

• Easy networking with the software tool PASconnect

You use one safe expansion module

PNOZ m EF SafetyNET per base

unit (PNOZ m B0 or B1). The base

units can be combined as required.

PNOZmulti and PNOZmulti Mini

base units can also be incorporated

Collision measurement set PROBms – For standard-compliant human-robot collaboration

The collision measurement set is

used in the context of validating

human-robot collaboration (HRC)

and serves to measure force and

pressure. According to ISO/TS

15066, in an HRC application –

without guards – limit values in a

possible collision must be taken

into consideration. The relevant

measurements are therefore required

in every HRC application. The collision

measurement device equipped with

springs and corresponding sensors

measures the forces acting on the

human body, as well as the local

pressure gauged using pressure

indicating films, and compares

these to the specified limit values.

A convenient software tool is available

to you for validating and digitising force

measurements, and for generating

test reports.

We offer you the PROBms set as part

of a comprehensive rental concept.

The rental concept also includes a

one-day, practically oriented product

training course and a sophisticated

after-sales package. As well as

routine maintenance and calibration,

these arrangements include supplying

Software

Lockout/tagout is enabling energy

and safety-relevant interlocks on the

various energy supplies on machines.

PASloto – lockout/tagout is software

for documentation of lockout/tagout

(LOTO) procedures. PASloto helps

you to draw up job descriptions

for powering down in the LOTO

procedure. In addition to this, you

can use the software to easily

document the overall system with

regard to LOTO. Follow the step-by-

step instructions for faster compilation

of your own templates for procedures

and add photos of the machine or

plant to create clear instructions and

guidance for the operator.

We recommend our training course

“LoTo: Lockout Tagout – Safety-

relevant lockout and tagout” as

the ideal supplementary measure.

The one-day seminar is divided

into two units that can be booked

independently of each other.

Part 1 deals with the requirements

and applications of the lockout/

tagout procedure.

The practical part 2 on the PASloto

software deals with the following

topics:

• Practical exercise examples

based on a sample machine

Your benefits at a glance

• Compilation of lockout/tagout reports

• Compiling different procedures for the same machine

• Checking your own lockout/tagout rules (company policy)

• Editable databases (authors, machinery and manufacturers,

document types)

• Inserting photos of the machine and energy sources incl. zoom function

• Practical printing-out of a poster to document the entire procedure

on the machine

• Modern design; large, clear symbols

• Regulated approach for increased occupational health and safety

E-STOP pushbutton

The standards ISO 13850 and

IEC 60204 have been revised.

The E-STOP pushbuttons PITestop

active implement these new

requirements in compliance with

the standards: they indicate by

illumination when they are active.

When inactive, they are not lit and

therefore not identifiable as E-STOPs.

This provides you with the right

solution for your modular plants

and machinery, with the option of

deselecting or adding plant modules.

Inactive machine sections can then

be switched off to reduce costs

and save energy – without the need

to cover over inactive E-STOP

pushbuttons. For easy, flexible

installation there is a panel and

surface-mount version.

Our new range of E-STOP push-

buttons PITestop active supports you

with flexible solutions – and provides

E-STOP functions tailored to the

smart factory!

PITestop active – Electrically activated E-STOP pushbutton

Your benefits at a glance

• Standard-compliant E-STOP pushbuttons in accordance with

the Machinery Directive

• E-STOP conforming to ISO 13850 and IEC 60204

• Electrically activated

• Can be activated or deactivated

• Integrated solution to signal that the E-STOP pushbutton has

been operated

• Saving cost and time by switching off inactive machine parts

• Easier for user to handle, because active machine sections

and operator devices are identified

• Simple, flexible installation thanks to panel and surface mount versions

• No longer necessary to cover over inactive E-STOP pushbuttons

• Increased flexibility as the operating mode on interlinked machines

can be changed faster
