VALENTINE’S DAY - will be here before you know it! Do something extra

special this year and plan to be a part of the Family Conference for

Marriage & Parenting, led by Framework Family Ministries. Dates are

February 14th, 15th & 16th, right here at the church! Early bird cost is

only $88/couple when paid by January 19, 2020, and includes everything

from meals to childcare. For more details, registration & payment, stop by

the Welcome Center or call the church office.

GLOBAL CROSSTALK – the latest news from our missionaries is now at the

Information Center. The January Prayer Calendar is also available to help

you pray for our church staff, ministries and missionaries.

OUR JANUARY MISSION OFFERING - on Sunday, January 19th, will go to

help our supported missionaries to Ukraine, who had to move due to ef-

fects of the war with Russia. Their new home needs heating, water and

plumbing, and electricity installed, as well as basic furnishings. Since it is

winter, they will have to rent somewhere until it is livable.

TODAY IS THE LAST DAY - to purchase a 2020 God’s

Creation Calendar from the Library for only $7.

Proceeds will benefit the MCA Junior Class. Please

stop by and pick up a calendar while supplies last!

WEST VIRGINIANS FOR LIFE - is joining with the pro-life

citizens of West Virginia to petition for the Born-Alive

Abortion Survivors Protection Act to be passed in our state

in 2020. This bill will protect infants born alive following

an attempted abortion. You can sign the petition at the

Welcome Center, or sign online at https://

www.wvforlife.org/call-to-action/#petition.

PRAYER CHAIN - Prayer warriors are needed for our prayer chain. Please

sign up today at the Welcome Center to participate in 2020. Keep in mind

you will be asked to pray for emergency needs at any time, day or night. If

you have any questions, please contact the church office.

CHAPEL 101 - will be taught by Pastor Dan Thyng on

Wednesday, January 15th, from 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. in the

Choir Room. Chapel 101 is the first of three discipleship

classes to help you understand the purpose and ministry

process of Johnston Chapel. Please sign up at the Welcome

Center to attend. This class is required for membership.

NUMBERED OFFERING ENVELOPES - are at the Information Center. If you need

a contribution receipt for your giving for 2020, please pick up a complete box

to use. You may continue to use your remaining 2019 envelopes during 2020.

FCA MEN’S 3-ON-3 BASKETBALL - for ages 16 and up, will be held on Sunday

afternoons, January 12th – March 1st, from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. in the gymnasium.

There will be refreshments, fellowship, devotions, and fun, with lots of games

and competitions! Contact Darrell Presley at 304-920-0962 for more info.

THANK YOU! - for all the help with Angel Tree this year. Gifts were distributed

to 47 Angel Tree kids, 45 kids at Sam Perdue and Mt. Hope Juvenile Detention

Centers, 65 kids of the dads at Recovery Point, and 440 or so gifts to inmates

at Stevens Correctional Center in Welch, and the gospel was shared with each

gift. A special note of thanks to Carol Moulder for baking 100 dozen cookies

that were given out at Sam Perdue, Mt. Hope and Recovery Point. Special

thanks also to the jail team that helped with the distribution – Steve Powell,

John Robinson, Jr, Bob Hager, Michael & Becky Bolton, and Tony & Pat Miller.

SEMIANNUAL BUSINESS MEETING - January 19th in a combined 10:30 a.m.

service. Important decisions will be made on new Deacons, committee

members, and the 2020 budget. All Bible Fellowships will meet at 9:15 a.m.

All Youth, grades 6-12, are invited for fellowship, games, worship through music, Bible teaching and small group discussion. See Pastor James for more info or questions about your youth ministry.

fellowship so that women across the

generations can get to know each other
