FROM OUR PRINCIPAL

Time has flown this term - It feels like the fastest school term I’ve ever experienced! It’s been a very productive and rewarding term.

Our school, along with the other schools in our Cluster (Lake Boga, Nyah, Woorinen and Swan Hill Specialist School), are finalists in the ‘Outstanding School Advancement’ category of the Victorian Education Excellence Awards! Over the last two years, our Cluster has worked together to establish a Professional Learning Community, in which teachers across the settings collaborate about best teaching practice and improved student outcomes. Janene Thompson, Phil Cox and I will attend the awards ceremony in Melbourne on Friday 26th October.

Our Assistant Principal, Phil Cox, has been appointed to the role of Acting Principal of Beverford Primary School, for Term 4. We wish Phil all the best for his time in this role. We are currently in the process of appointing an Acting Assistant Principal for Term 4.

Work has begun this week on the installation of a new switchboard at school. The new switchboard will accommodate the power supply of the new Kinder. The new Kinder – Shine Bright Kunawaa – will open at the beginning of Term 4.

I hope everyone has a safe and enjoyable holiday break – look forward to seeing everyone back at school on Monday 8th October.

PE REPORT

RESILIENCE, RIGHTS & RESPECTFUL RELATIONSHIPS

This term we are learning about Engagement.

Engagement is the interaction between behavior,

feelings, motivation and ability. Cultivating wonder and

discovering joy in everyday events allows students to

remain open and curious to the world.

Watch a video with your child and discuss how it makes

you feel, eg Up, Man on wire & Amelie.

WALK ON WEDNESDAY

Todays ‘Walk on Wednesday’ winners are Ivy from 2R and Dekoda from 5B. They loved riding to school because it was a superb morning.

Walk to School in October! Don’t forget, October is Walk to School month and a great time to start walking, riding or scooting to school! Get walking from the start of next term and kick start a new healthy habit! http:/www.walktoschool.vic.gov.au/

Divisional Athletics

Divisional Athletics were held in Kerang on Monday.

Our students did extremely well. It was wonderful to

see them displaying positive sportsmanship. The

Regional Athletics will be held in Bendigo on the second

Monday of Term 3, October 15th.

Junior Athletics

Junior Athletics for Prep-Year 2 students will be held at

School on Thursday 18th October, beginning at 9.30am

and finishing at approximately 1pm. All events will be

held at school.
