System RequirementsFor the latest system requirements information and to learn about specific qualified system configurations, go to the System Requirements page. Some users have had success running system configurations that deviate from the supported listed on our website. In such cases, these configurations are not officially supported by 3D Systems, Inc.

Additionally, we test a variety of hardware platforms in combination with the graphics subsystems. While we make every attempt to be as thorough as possible, hardware manufacturers change their products frequently and may be shipping newer products or have discontinued active support for others. Check the support section of the website for the latest system requirement information and specific qualified systems.

Download and Install SoftwareYou can download and install the software from gettingstarted.geomagic.com, select the 3D Sprint product, then click Download 3D Sprint to download 3D Sprint.

In addition, automatic software updates are available if you set the Check for updates on launch option to True in Preferences and a valid maintenance code is activated, and your computer is connected to the Internet. The application will check if a newer version is available and will download it automatically for installation.

You can also visit support.3dsystems.com, select you printer, then download 3D Sprint for the Software Downloads section on you printer’s site.

Activate License3D Sprint requires license activation to run the application on your PC. You can choose to use an evaluation license for a 30-day period or activate a permanent license by using an activation code.

After you start your application, the License Utility window opens. The License Utility allows you to activate and use the 3D Sprint software.

NOTE: When you launch the License Utility, you can click the Help button to read the Licensing Guide.

To register for permanent activation codes please use the 3D Sprint registration landing page here:

http://www2.3dsystems.com/l/1004/2017-03-16/7mk48v *

*This request will go into a system, and we will produce activation codes within 48 hours (excluding weekends).

If you are an existing user and have already activated the license on your PC with the previous version of the application, you can run the newer version of the application without re-activating the license.

For more information, go to gettingstarted.geomagic.com, select the 3D Sprint product, and then click Licensing.

4 NEW FEATURES

Advanced Beta Functions3D Sprint version 2.9 sees the inclusion of optional access to several advanced beta features that users can opt-in to use. A table of features, functionality and supported printers can be found here.

Feature Beta Mode Functionality Supported

Materials Beta Mode exposes Support and Air types in the material pallet for 2500 and 5X00 Printers. Parts can now be assigned something other than real part material.

MJP 2500 and 5X00 Series Printers

Add Part

Add Part is an alternative way to position and orient “tool” parts onto “target” parts using a mating surface method and relative transforms. Tool parts can also have their material property set to “air” now, when this is set, part booleans are per-formed at slice time.

MJP Printers

Infill → Lattice Beta Functionality enables 10 additional lattice cell structures to pick from. MJP Printers

Surface Displace

Surface Displace is a method of applying physical surface texture to parts without requiring computationally intensive modeling operations usually associated with baking a texture into part geometry. This function can be applied to models which have a color texture layer, and works best when the texture layer is greyscale.

MJP Printers

Smart Supports Additional parameters have been made available for more fine control over the analysis, placement and generation of support structures.

SLA Printers

Auto-Placement

Our full range of Auto-placement parameters have been exposed. New features are available such as Placement strategy, Priority setting & Rotation control.Auto-place also gains a Presets dialog so the parameters can be maintained locally, exported, imported etc.

All Printers

Fix Manual Fix is now available with advanced polygon selection and editing tools, including hole filling and bridging.

All Printers

CAD I/O Native CAD vendor formats are now available as an import option. All Printers

ADVANCED BETA FUNCTIONALITY WILL ONLY BE AVAILABLE UNTIL DECEMBER 31ST 2018*

*: When the Advanced Beta Functionality expires or is disabled all new functions will be disabled and existing functions will revert to their officially released

functionality. However, changes made to parts will be retained even after the Beta is no longer active.

To activate the Advanced Beta Functionality in 3D Sprint:

1. Open Preferences → Beta Features.

2. Toggle the ‘Enable Beta Features’ option.

3. Enter your name and email address.

4. Click Set.

You will now be able to access the Beta Features in 3D Sprint.

3D Sprint 2.96

ReportA new reporting tool has been added to this version of 3D Sprint for those users that want to account for things like schedule or material consumption. This command can be accessed for all printers from the Print tab and allow for a number of selected attributes to be included in the report. All reports are generated into a standard Excel format.

Reference FilesWe have added a new command for DLP printers to make it easier to load and print reference parts to be used in conjunction with the Scale and Offset Wizard. Now you can simply choose the Load Reference Model command from the Print tab to load the reference parts directly onto the platform. If you are connected to a printer via a network, you can send the reference build directly to the printer queue.

New Material IntroductionWith the inclusion of the New Material Introduction process, we have added the functionality to add or update materials in 3D Sprint without having to reinstall 3D Sprint. This allows the update of the local 3D Sprint materials database via a patch file from within the application. This can be accessed from the Preferences → About tab when the 3D Sprint application is run in Administrator mode.
