  2. 2. Q Magazine Adele front coverThe letter Q, which is the masthead is veryvisible and is placed in the left hand corner ofthis magazine. This will inform readers that thismagazine is called Q. The cover line saysAdele which shows that the magazines mainarticle is about Adele or could be an interviewwith her. This cover line is placed at the bottomof the front cover and is in a bold, white fontwhich stands out. There is a quote which Adelemay have said in the main article interviewplaced above the main cover line. Moreover theadditional cover lines are placed down the lefthand side of this front cover. They are all in thecolours of red and black and they are all in thesame font type. The image used of Adele is aclose up shot of her face which is in the centreof the front cover.
  3. 3. Q Magazine Noel Gallagher frontcoverYou can tell from this front cover that this is a Qmagazine as well. This is because of the massive Q inthe top left hand corner, which is the masthead. Themain cover line from this front cover is Noel. This iswho the main magazine interview/article is about andtherefore informs the reader this. This is very much thesame as the Q magazine in the previous slide as it is inthe same white font type. It is also placed at the bottomof the front cover. In addition, it has a quote which Noelmay have said in the main articles interview. This is verysimilar to the magazine in the previous slide as it hasbeen placed just above the main cover line. Similarly, the additional cover lines have been placed down theleft hand side of the front cover, however theseadditional cover lines are in the colour white, unlike theones in the magazine in the previous slide. Just like inthe magazine in the previous slide the image they haveused of Noel Gallagher is a close up shot.
  4. 4. Q Magazine Kate Bush frontcoverJust like in the magazines in the previous slides, themasthead of this magazine Q is placed on the topleft hand side of this front cover. The main cover lineof this magazine is Kate Bush which has beenplaced in the same way as the magazines in theprevious slides; the bottom of the front cover. However this magazine does not have a quote thatKate Bush has said in her interview in the mainarticle of this magazine like the other magazines inthe previous slides did. Furthermore the additionalcover lines have been placed down the left hand sidelike the other magazines in the previous slides havein the same column-styled way. Like the magazine inthe previous slide all the additional cover lines are inthe same colour white but are in a different font sizethan the other magazines. The image of Kate Bushthey have decided to use is a close up shot of herface, just like the other magazines in the previousslides have.
  5. 5. Q MagazineFrom these 3 magazine front covers it has now becomeapparent how similar they are even though they are fromdifferent years and have different artists on them. Themasthead of the letter Q is the main giveaway that theseare the same magazines. Also, the main cover lines are allthe same colour and placed in the same way; at the bottomof the page. Furthermore the additional cover lines are allplaced down the left hand side in the same column-styledway. Although in not all 3 magazines are they the samecolour. The images of the artists are all close up shots oftheir faces. In many ways, Q magazine has a traditionalstyle of front cover they tend to stick too.
