The Golden Ratio is the only number which when you add one it gives you the value of itself squared

1.6182 + 1 = 2.618 = 1.61822

The Golden Ratio is also the only number which when you take away one it gives you the value of its reciprocal

1.618 - 1 = 0.618 =1
