Come to learn…. Leave to serve…. Making a di fference in the world

Student of the MonthOctober 2010

Congratulations Irma RomeroIrma has been here at the Business Technology Center since September of this year. She is a very uplifting, positive woman, and a team player. I asked Irma three questions. If you could give any advice to the future BTC students, what would it be? She said, “There are no impossibilities just possibilities, keep your head up, and reach for possibilities.” Next, I asked Irma what her greatest accomplishments were and she said, “To be efficient and to turn in all assignments in a timely manner.” Last question I asked was, “How did you feel when you found out that you were student of the month?” Irma replied, “I was very moved and honored.” Irma you are an inspiration to me and all of the BTC students, you’re always upbeat and kind hearted, you’re an angel in disguise, you mean a lot to this program. So thank you Irma for being you.

Special Guest Speaker: Lucinda Jones

I got the opportunity to interview and ask Ms. Jones questions and it was wonderful. She’s very encouraging when it comes to life. I asked her what her current job title is, she said, “I’m a district General Manager for Home Garden Community Services and I’ve been here for two years.” Do you have any words of encouragement to give? “For any job I would say that you need to have passion, without passion, there is no vision.” I then asked Ms. Jones what she enjoyed the most about her job and she said, “The different challenges given to me daily, not one day is ever the same.” Last month, I interviewed Ms. Victoria Baca, Ms. Jones is her boss, so I had to ask how she liked working with Victoria and her response was, “Very well, she’s very helpful and gets the extra work done.”
