What is your Destiny worth to you?

Colossians 3:1-11

Colossians 3:1-4

•“1If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. 2Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth. 3For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. 4When Christ who is our life appears then you also will appear with Him in glory.

Colossians 3:5-7

•5Therefore put to death your members which are on the earth: fornication, uncleanness, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry. 6Because of these things the wrath of God is coming upon the sons of disobedience, 7in which you yourselves once walked when you lived in them.

Colossians 3:8-11

•8But now you yourselves are to put off all these: anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy language out of your mouth. 9Do not lie to one another, since you have put off the old man with his deeds, 10and have put on the new man who is renewed in knowledge according to the image of Him who created him, 11where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcised nor uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave nor free, but Christ is all and in all.”

What is your Destiny worth to you?

Matthew 7:21-23•“21Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will

enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.22 Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?’ 23 Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’”

Jesus Christ’s Love

•Loves us where we are at.•His Love for us compels His desire to ensure we are growing spiritually.

John 5:14

•“Afterward Jesus found him in the temple, and said to him, ‘See, you have been made well. Sin no more, lest a worse thing come upon you.’”

Jesus Christ thought your Destiny was and is worth His life.

Revelation 21:1-3

• “1Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the old heaven and the old earth had disappeared. And the sea was also gone. 2 And I saw the holy city, the new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven like a bride beautifully dressed for her husband.3 I heard a loud shout from the throne, saying, ‘Look, God’s home is now among his people! He will live with them, and they will be his people. God himself will be with them.[a]

Revelation 21:4-6• 4 He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there will

be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain. All these things are gone forever.’5 And the one sitting on the throne said, ‘Look, I am making everything new!’ And then he said to me, ‘Write this down, for what I tell you is trustworthy and true.’ 6 And he also said, ‘It is finished! I am the Alpha and the Omega—the Beginning and the End. To all who are thirsty I will give freely from the springs of the water of life.

Revelation 21:7-8

• 7 All who are victorious will inherit all these blessings, and I will be their God, and they will be my children.8 ‘But cowards, unbelievers, the corrupt, murderers, the immoral, those who practice witchcraft, idol worshipers, and all liars—their fate is in the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death.’”

Is your Destiny worth your idea of a good time?•Some things are easier to give up than others•Unharmful things become harmful when we place them in the harmful position of being more to us than God.

James 4:17

•“17Therefore, to him who knows to do good and does not do it, to him it is sin.”

Is your Destiny worth your time?

Ephesians 5:15-17

•“15See then that you walk carefully, not as fools but as wise, 16redeeming the time, because the days are evil. 17Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is.”

Time is Money

•We need to redeem our time.•Trust the Navigator.

Jeremiah 29:11

•“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.”

Proverbs 3:5-6

•“5Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding.6Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.”

Donuts vs. Potatoes

I John 2:15-17

•“15 Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16 For all that is in the world—the desires of the flesh and the desires of the eyes and pride of life[a]—is not from the Father but is from the world. 17 And the world is passing away along with its desires, but whoever does the will of God abides forever.”

Proverbs 3:7-8

•“7Do not be wise in your own eyes;Fear the LORD and depart from evil.8It will be health to your flesh,And strength to your bones.”

Nobody said it would be easy.

Matthew 7:13-14

•“13You can enter God’s Kingdom only through the narrow gate. The highway to hell[a] is broad, and its gate is wide for the many who choose that way. 14 But the gateway to life is very narrow and the road is difficult, and only a few ever find it.”

Good thing we are not alone

•Church is a family.•We have brothers and sisters to come alongside us.

Colossians 3:12-15• “12 Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved,

put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering; 13 bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do. 14 But above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfection. 15 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful.

Colossians 3:16-17

• 16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. 17 And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.”

Galatians 6:1-6• “1Brethren, if a man is overtaken in any trespass, you

who are spiritual restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness, considering yourself lest you also be tempted. 2 Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ. 3 For if anyone thinks himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceives himself. 4 But let each one examine his own work, and then he will have rejoicing in himself alone, and not in another. 5 For each one shall bear his own load. 6Let him who is taught the word share in all good things with him who teaches.”

Everybody is struggling

•Each and every one of us has our own “load to bear.”•Our getting through a struggle does not entitle us to arrogance, use your experience to help those who struggle with the same thing.

Endure to ensure your Inheritance; your

Destiny.

Colossians 3:23-25

•“23 And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men,24 knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for[a] you serve the Lord Christ. 25 But he who does wrong will be repaid for what he has done, and there is no partiality.”

Is your Destiny worth enough to you to give it ALL up to Him and

for His Purposes?
