1. The proportion of CTS students who commence training who obtain NCVT certification

2. The proportion of CTS graduates who find employment within 12 months of graduation

3. The level of wages paid to employed graduates 12 months after graduation

1.1 Improving Quality of Training in ITIs

1.1 Strengthening ITIs

Centres of Excellence One industry sector only – maximum of 2

crore Related trades – maximum of 1.5 crore

Upgraded ITIs 6 trades in demand – maximum of 2 crore Some flexibility for more than 6 trades

Establishing about 300 COEs COEs are different from the normal ITI in

that they will impart training in an identified industrial sector – multi-skilling

ITIs to host a COE to be located in an industrial belt

Training in COEs will consist of: One year of broad based training 6 months training on Advanced

Modules with specifically created facilities in ITI itself

6 months on the job training in industry

Establishing about 300 COEs contd…..

Funding for the COEs will be available for: Purchase of equipment to meet the

requirements of COE training Refurbishment of and addition to the

existing buildings for conduct of Advanced Module training

Training of COE instructors Establishment of TCPC Other operational expenses related to

conduct of Advanced Modules

Strengthening of 100 ITIs

States may choose to upgrade ITIs that are not located in industrial belts for strengthening of training facilities in the conventional trades

Funding to these ITIs will be available for:

Purchase of equipments and modernization of workshops

Refurbishment of existing buildings Training of all instructors Establishment of TCPC Some of the operational expenses

Refresher training In 20 CoEs

Project funds are available to States for training all instructors from even non-Project ITIs.

3 types of training will be financed: Entry-level training for untrained

instructors for 12 months or less Refresher training for 4 weeks COE instructors training for 10 weeks

Funds to cover full training costs of instructors are allocated to the SPIUs

Training of Instructors Contd…. States can apply to establish 10 ITWs Each ITW to operate within an ITI Additional funding for ITWs for (Rs. 1.5 crore)

Civil works: Classrooms/workshops/hostels Equipments and materials Staff cost: Additional staff for ITWs Office equipments Travel of staff Staff training

AHI will coordinate with States/SPIUs for instructors’ training

1.3 Incentive Fund 20 awards awarded in two lots

Maximum of $2 million (say 9 crore) State may receive reward either or both times

Criteria Expenditure of allocation Vacancies filled KPI on successful completion rate Actions of TCPO Instructors receiving training

State can use incentives funds for:

Strengthening non-project ITIs Training instructors in highly specialized

areas Translating instructional packages into

regional languages Conducting short-term training for

artisans and unemployed youth in both project and non-project ITIs, etc.
