Courses in Grades 11 and 12: a balanced selection from six IB subject groups culminating in international exams sent away for grading

IB Diploma Requirements Take 3 or 4 Higher Level and 3 or 2 Standard Level Courses (so

3 HL + 3 SL or 4 HL + 2 SL)

One Course (HL or SL) From Each Subject Group

Higher Level = 240 Instructional Hours Over Two Years: Exams Taken at End of Senior Year

Standard Level = 150 Instructional Hours in one year: Exams Taken at end of Junior or Senior Year

The I B DP uses multiple types of ASSESSMENT to measure student achievement in all its courses. The underlying philosophy is to allow students to make choices (History

example), and to give them an opportunity to demonstrate what they know, rather than find out what they

don't know.
