management skills♦ Have time and interest in investigating issues beyond the

classroom♦ are looking for intellectual challenges beyond what is

offered in regular social science/science courses (which also develop these skills as part of the regular program)

♦ are looking for an external measure of success♦ Committed to a 2 year course program

AP Seminar (Course to be determined -Seminar)♦ Consider issues from multiple perspectives and

theoretical frameworks♦ Identify credible sources♦ Evaluate strengths and weaknesses of arguments♦ Make logical, evidence based recommendations♦ Investigate a variety of topics through various

viewpoints♦ Includes a team project, individual paper, oral

presentation and written AP Exam as well as other course assignments

Pre-requisite for AP Research Course3

AP Research (IDC4U-Research)♦ In depth exploration and application of research

methods♦ Exploration of complex problems from an

interdisciplinary perspective ♦ Complete year long independent research project

working with a mentor ♦ Submit a major academic paper ♦ Complete an oral defense in front of an audience♦ Complete regular course assessments
