What is Phi Beta Lambda?PBL is the post-secondary/collegiate division of Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA).

Founded in 1942 in Johnson City, TN by Hamden L. Forkner. Today, FBLA-PBL aims to prepare students for their future careers in business and business-related fields by providing an excellent leadership and career development programs. FBLA-PBL has over 250,000 members across the four divisions in chapters worldwide.

Is membershipopen only tobusiness majors?No, undergraduate and graduate students of any major/degree program are encouraged to become a member. To be an active member, the student must be a currently registered at their institution at the time dues are paid.

What are some benefits of joining PBL?PBL members have access to a variety of hotel, computer, business attire, and car rental discounts. Also, members have the opportunity to apply for scholarships and win cash awards in competitive events at the annual National Leadership Conference.

ServicePBL members engage their local communities in service projects, such as food drives, Christmas adopt-a-family, highway clean-ups, middle and high school FBLA outreach, and March of Dimes fundraising.

EducationFBLA-PBL provides opportunities for members to enhance their career focus and skills through programs, such as resume reviews, business tours, job shadowing, mock interviews, participation in the Career and Membership Achievement Program (CMAP) and competing in the National Awards Program.

ProgressPBL members have the opportunity to explore and advance their leadership potential and communication skills by running for local, state and/or national office. Each level of our association offers new and different experiences to members willing to challenge themselves.

National Awards ProgramPBL members can choose from over 60 competitive events to compete in at state and national conferences. The events range from objective tests, case studies, presentations, and interviews. Competitive event competencies correlate with college education standards.

ScholarshipsFBLA-PBL hosts a variety of scholarship opportunities for active members. Currently available scholarships include the National Leadership Conference (NLC) scholarship and Distinguished Business Leader scholarship.. For more information on scholarships, visit www.fbla-pbl.org.
