Onion Skinning???

Onion Skinning refers to the type of paper that animators used to draw on.

It was made from the skin of onions.

It was semi-transparent, allowing animators to see through it

We have come to know them as “Layers”

“Ogres are like Onions” - Shrek

Because Ogres have layers.

And, onions have layers.

And Shrek is a by-product of Walt Disney’s legacy – “Onion Skinning”
