What is an Advanced Skin Care Facial?
At Violet Adair we have consistently

therapies using traditional techniques
and we have also been among the first

products. Our bespoke skin treatments
are specifically designed to suit your
individual requirements.
This is a specialist skin treatment
i n vo l v i ng t he use o f advanced
techniques to target problem areas,
using the latest technology. A course of
any one of the following treatments may
be prescribed for you.
We have a number of techniques to
ensure maximum visible and long lasting
results. Ask our highly experienced
practitioners to compliment your Deep
Cleanse or Prescription Facial with any
one of our recommended advanced
techniques.
Advanced Techniques
Advanced Exfoliation
A powerful non-abrasive exfoliant is applied by your therapist to suit the required level of exfoliation and is applied for between 10 and 15 minutes.
Advanced exfoliation can brighten and smooth the skin, combat fine lines, improve cell renewal and
regeneration, and can improve acne scarring. Advanced Exfoliation is great for dehydrated, sun damaged, pigmented, dry, lacklustre, dull skin, as
well as skin sensitive to abrasion.
Advanced Extractions
Some skin products contain certain ingredients that may not break down in the skin and can leave a residue that may remain beneath the skin. The skin
does not have the function to dispose of this foreign substance, resulting in the formation of milia. Milia
appear like small white cysts beneath the skin. Advanced manual extractions will detoxify and smooth the skin.
Lymph Drainage MassageEssential oils are used to soothe and warm the skin. Lymph Drainage Massage will help detox your skin
and encourage the skin to heal itself. Lymph Drainage Massage can be used to sculpt and firm
the skin and is great for a lacklustre, mature or sensitised skin condition.
Advanced Mask TreatmentsOur therapists will tailor your mask to resolve
various skin conditions, whether it is to heal, firm or deeply nourish your skin.
High FrequencyHigh Frequency is a germicidal current used to kill bacteria on
problem skin by drawing out sebum and healing excessive
breakouts. High Frequency can be stimulating or soothing
depending on the method of application. To treat acne-prone, or
excessively oily skin, high frequency can be used after gentle
extraction.
Electro-stimulation with Galvanic CurrentA mild electric current is applied via small rollers to work a
specific tailored serum into the skin. This deep cleansing
treatment will draw out impurities, firm contours, increase lymph
drainage, soften and hydrate the skin. Electrostimulation is used
to treat mature, environmentally sensitised or congested skin
conditions.
Bio-Light TherapyLow level laser light waves are used to penetrate deeply into the
skin and optimise the immune responses of the blood. This has
both anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive effects,
supplying vital oxygen and energy to every cell. Bio-Light can be
used to relieve acute and chronic pain, to stimulate the healing of
wounds, to increase quality and strength of tissue and to reduce
inflammation. We recommend the Bio-Light for damaged,
sensitised or blemished skin conditions and have achieved
excellent results when used to treat active acne.
After Care
Cool - The treated area can be red and warm for a few hours
after treatment some swelling may occur. If this is uncomfortable
you can cool the treated area with a cold press or flannel. Do not
use ice. This can cause an ‘ice burn’.
Soothe / Astringent - Soothing preparation gel/balm may be
advised up to three times a day post procedure for 5 days. Aloe
Vera Gel helps to soothe the area and has antiseptic properties,
however other soothing balms/ creams may be more suitable to
your treatment. Witch Hazel and tea tree oil purchased at Violet
Adair are sometimes prescribed for antibacterial and astringent
use. Please ask for advice before applying any after care
solution.
Make up Refrain from wearing make-up for at least 24 hours
post procedure. Giving the skin a chance to breathe and cool
naturally.
Heat- Avoid steam and sauna and any excessive heating of the
skin for 24 hours post procedure.
Protect To avoid infection do not touch the treated area directly
after your treatment. Avoid swimming, flying , excessive exercise,
alcohol, smoking and close contact with pets for 24hrs post
Procedure. A daily sun protection of SPF 30 is advisable for up
to four weeks after all advanced treatment procedures
Salt No contact with chlorinated swimming pools or sea/salt
water. Avoid salty foods if lip area has been treated.
Sun Avoid sun exposure including tanning beds / UV lamps and
the use of tanning accelerators for 4 weeks prior to and 4 weeks
post procedure.
Products Avoid the use of products that contain retinol, AHA’s
or glycolic acid on treated area for 4 weeks post procedure.
Always avoid skin care products that contain perfume, alcohol,
