City as a "boiling water" collection and connections of people

Have you ever been to cloud nine? Or some sort of a wonderland in a haste of your

dreams and thoughts? Did it felt like you're at the peak of your daydreaming escapade? Was

it like an adrenalin spilled all over your body? Did it felt good, or not? Well, it must have

been your overflowing desires to capture your most wishful thoughts.

This is how I imagined a city. A place of ups and downs. A roller coaster of expectations

and discouragements. A universe full of doubts and insecurities. A place that speaks for your

reverie, whether sane or insane, lost or found, good or bad. It has that intense force which

may keep your heart pounding. You can sense it when you walk around one. People around

you might be intimidating and out of your grasp but always keep in mind that they are just the

same being as you are. On the bright side, a city holds the record of most dreams and

ambitions. Ambitions are not just mere self-centred, obligatory task for yourself, but it can be

for the betterment of the whole environment. A city is an embodiment of gaining something

out of nothing. You might be wondering how on earth someone can gain something out of

nothing. Of course, it will happen with the help of determination, discipline and respect to the

wonders of nature. City would have not been existing if nature was not present from the

beginning of time. A city offers numerous of luxurious specialties. It is the center of wealth,

style, hipness, physical attractiveness, fame, social class, intelligence and quality of life.

These ideas might be too much for an ordinary person like we are, but it is the price for

surviving the great challenges of residing in a city.

A city is an overflowing collections of people having unlike personalities, lifestyle, goals

and aspirations taken into one universe. It is a theatre of social actions, and an aesthetic

symbol of collective unity. Imagine a stage as a city and we as the actors and actresses. The

stage is a big platform wherein all scenes happen, whether delightful or tragic, pleasant or

unpleasant. Same goes with a city, it can be place of wonderful occasions or murderous

circumstances. Depending on how we respond, we are the actors having our own show and

own roles in life, whether kings or slaves, lions or rats. It might cause us optimism and state

of mind or depression towards our environment. To live in a city might be captivating but is

not an easy task. Some people develop this high self-esteem because of their success, luck

and desire. But some people gained traumatic experiences because of culture shock,

unacceptance and rejections.

A city is a wide range collection of various people. People that differ in strength of mind

and probably has the most comprehensive exhibition, compilation and performance of work.

Human being that differ in opinions, capabilities, and potentials. People having the will

power to overcome challenges and struggles in life. One good thing about a city is the lessons

in life you learn while residing in it. A city, through experience, teaches you to fight in life,

and never let anyone stoop you down. It may be a place of organized chaos and disarray of

options, but it is also a place of hope and competition. You’ve got no choice but to be a

contender in this battlefield. Sometimes you lose, and hopefully, more often you win. You

just got to make the right decisions, trust the right people and integrate yourself into

establishing your own good reputation.

A city is a place where people enjoys the luxury of socializations and imparts an urban

way life. This is where transition happens. Rapid change is constant in a city. It may be the

advanced technology, the high rise buildings or even people from middle to elite class in

society. This things might occur with a blink of an eye. It is brought about by unending

opportunities which may actually change one’s life. One may adore the fancy lifestyle that a

city might offer, but one must also be enlightened that wealth and power must be applied to

promote better opportunities to other people. One may fear the envelope of a city because of

the different collections and beliefs of people residing, but one must be brave enough to face

the force of environment and be able tag along with this powerful energy.

A city offers a variety of interconnections, whether physical or virtual. It is the organized

interconnections between the site, the structures and its people. Through this so-called

linkage, people get to reach for their dreams practically in haste. This develops the attraction

of millions of ambitious people to reside in a city. There's this positive energy a city can send

your inner mind a message: you could do more; you could be the best. It is the similar

message that made all those multi-billionaire tycoons all over the country No matter how

determined you are, it's hard not to be influenced by the connection of people around you.

You may do whatever a city expects of you, but sometime you get discouraged when no one

around you cares about the same things you do. A city, through a wide range of

interconnections, has the property of proximity where there are educational institutions, P a g e 2 | 3

entertainment, medical facilities, etc. with a good infrastructure system. It calls for more

people to live in this concrete jungle and promote economy, as well as, congestion.

It is easy to believe that a city can produce all these goods, services and trading systems

which helps the economy grow. But at the moment, it is hard to believe that people residing

in a city are way healthier and happier to those who are not. It may be negative or some sort,

but let us face the fact that urban people is not always equal to urban life. Sometimes, people

of rural areas has a better quality life. People may be thrilled to live in a city assuming that

they would have a better life, but they must also consider the fact that cities nowadays can be

compared to a boiling water. It has an overflowing population, people are spilling all over the

place and they are now considered congested. It is the reality that both urban and rural people

must face.
