Audience research During the start of the course, we found it necessary to conduct an

initial audience feed backing session in order to see if our ideas for

our horror trailer project were effective and realistic. Upon hearing

our pitch the audience gave their responses on what they wanted

to see and how best to move forwards with our work.

We were told that; The soundtrack was an integral part of our trailer

and work should be done in order to make sure that it was as tense

and effective as it could possibly be.

The audience believed that a modern horror film would be best

achieved in a public place as it is more realistic and links more with

the target audience themselves.

The target audience all agreed that it would be essential to show

our film through the perspective of the killer as it almost makes you

feel as if you are going against moral code but allows the

audience to become more involved with the trailer itself.

Audience Feedback After the initial audience feedback we decided as

a group to take out individual surveys to ensure that we were on track to achieving the aims of our first target audience group. During this secondary meeting we also decided on the roles we would take in order to make sure that the horror trailer was as effective as it could be.

We also had to discuss the concerns that the initial target audience raised about the use of different characters. Some of these characters were later discarded as a result of this initial feedback, thus proving the importance of the audience feedback as a whole.

Audience Response Primary research was a huge part of my Research

and planning for my horror trailer. Questionnaires

and surveys created on the website survey

monkey, enabled me to focus more direct

questions to the audience on what they found best

in a horror film. Inn order for me to adapt my

planning process to create a more real and

acceptable horror styled product.
