What have all these pictures got in common?

Why might these ways of praying not be very useful?

1. Lying in bed in the morning2. Leaving prayer just to those times

when you feel like it3. Just praying when you want God to do

something for you4. Spending too long praying when you

should be doing other things eg homework

5. Only praying when you are with other people eg at mass

1. Explain why 2 ways of praying may not be very useful.

2. What would be your preferred way of praying?

How to Pray

• You are going to make an

INFORMATION GUIDE for prayer

• Your guide will include advice on

where to pray, what to say, what

to pray for

1. Order the information in your envelope in the way you want to present it in your guide.

2. Divide your guide into different sections, one for each part

3. Use the information to write your own bullet points or advice about each section

4. Illustrate your guide with pictures/ colour.

**What do you personally think is the best way or praying, from each section?

After any prayer, your connection with God doesn’t stop – quite the opposite – He becomes closer to you in your daily life.

You hope to bring him so close that you will always know His presence with you – not just when you are praying. Then you will have become a living prayer.

Tell God what is in your heart

BECOME a living prayer to God, aware of His presence around you at all times.

Ask Him for what you need

Rest in His loving presence

1. Put the stages of prayer in order. **Why is becoming a “living prayer”, the best kind of prayer?

Why we pray

SALT 1.Write the 4 lables in a 2x2 table: 6 lines. 2. Write in the matching psalm under the right heading. 3. Which prayer do you think people pray about with most feeling? Why?**Should prayer always include all 4 parts every time?
