what do you feel you have learn during the media course

TRANSCRIPT

Whatdo you feel you have learnt in the progression from it to full product?Whilst making my media coursework magazine there have been key skills I have picked up on my way throughthe work enhancing the way I design my work and the way I look at how it could be improved. The first key skill I used a lot of in Photoshop was the QuickSelection/Magic Wand tool. This helped me so much when editing unwanted things out of my photo or magazine; it saved me a lot of time when editing the photos as it made a 30 minute task into a 5 minute task at the click of a button.

The spot healer toolwas very helpful in touching up specific parts of my work where I wanted the slightest detail to be changed, the change of the photo afterwards was phenomenal, you could not notice that it had been photoshopped;it has a very professional outcome once used.

The ability tomerge layerswas very helpful when I wanted to move about one or more things or seehow they looked bunched together, it was a simple task to perform and very simple to undo as well, it made it very easy to find parts of my magazine when I had over 50+ layers on my work, it saved me time looking for things I didnt need to look hard for.

Themagnetic lasso toolwas very easy to use as it picked out the edges of the photo for you, it clicked to the outside and moved it about ensuring that you havent cropped any part of the photo out where you might to when youre in a rush and taking thequick options to cut photos, it makes the photo look up to a professional standard and not amateur.

The use of theopacityoptionfor my text, photos, backgrounds it was very helpful when I wanted to give a certain effect to my photos, it can be placed behind or in front of photos and when you duplicate the layers over each other it can create a very professional look for your work. I used this tool for some of my backgrounds and photos.

I also thought that thesharpen toolwas very useful when used for photos, it makes the photo stand out a lot more and give it a realisticeffect for the photo, it creates a much more clear and smooth image to look at.

Thesmudge toolwas helpful to my photos, I often went round the outside of my photos and edges of my magazine with this tool as it gives it a gradient look and a build up between the blur and the sharp edges of the photo.

I have found these skills very handy when makingmy media coursework, theseshortened the time it has taken me to finish off work and became major parts of my work and I was happy with the outcome they provided.
