Soon we’ll be transitioning from winter to spring. The sun will begin to gently

warm the earth, flowers will bloom and fill the air with the fragrance of hope and

renewal. Nature will emerge from its hibernation and the songs of the birds will

again fill the air as we enter the new season.

As we reflect on our seasons of life at King’s Grant, we’re inspired by the quote of Anne Bradstreet, “If we had no winter, the spring would not be so pleasant.”

Life throws us curveballs. We experience the lows and highs, the gains and losses, the soaring victories and crushing defeats. Change, both welcome and unwelcome, is our constant companion. Through all of the changes, we count our blessings, are grateful for our King’s Grant family and cherish the good times and wonderful memories that we have created together.

As our beloved former Executive Director, Tom enters a new chapter of his life, we wish him what we wish for ourselves: health, happiness and peace. We can best honor his spirit as we transition into our next season as a community by demonstrating the care and compassion that he modeled for us every day. May the coming spring be a season for rebirth, renewal and regrowth!

The Chaplain’s Office

Sunday Worship Service at 4:15 p.m.

Paul Johnson, Chaplain

Philippians 4:11-13, 19 “I have learned by now to be content whatever my circumstances. I’m at peace with little as with much and I have found the recipe for being joyful whether full or hungry, hands full or empty. Whatever I have, wherever I am, I can do everything through him who gives me strength. You can be sure that God will take care of everything your need with his generosity in the glory that pours from Jesus Christ.”

“Peace: In the Place Where God has Put You”

The apostle Paul is in prison writing these words to the church and feeling

contentment at the peace God brings to him. His sufficiency is in God and

not his circumstances and he carries an attitude of gratitude how the Lord is

his rock and foundation. God will bless us where he has placed us. The Lord

will provide for our needs in every situation!

“Power: God Wants to Give Us Strength for Each Day”

Contentment is dependent on God keeping us strong no matter the

circumstances, frustrations, problems, or location. It is a learning process as

we face adversity that God will provide strength for our concerns/ anxieties/

and exhaustion in each day. God brings people who lift our spirits, pray for us,

and give us valuable insight into making it through each challenge.

“Promise: God will Supply and Sustain Us!”

Do we believe God cares about us? Not necessarily to knock down all

obstacles or pave the road ahead of us but give us strength to push ahead

in the highway of life. I believe God will supply our needs according to his

riches in glory and sustain us for the spiritual priorities in our lives!

In Memory Care Unit

A Conversation with Tracey Hairston, Clinic Nurse/RN I had the opportunity to talk with Tracy who is the Clinic Nurse/Nurse Supervisor here at Kings Grant. Her office is located across from the Nurse’s Station in Health Care. Tracey is usually in her office Monday – Friday from 9:00-5:30. She shared with me the special clinics that are available to all residents. The Clinic Services provided are the following: eye doctor every 6 months; dental services as needed; podiatrist available monthly; audiologist monthly; physician, Dr. Aaron, monthly; nurse practitioner from Dr. Mahoney’s office every 2 weeks. Regular Clinic Hours are from 10:30 - 12:30 on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. She will be glad to change a dressing as needed; give shots monthly as prescribed, such as B12; allergy injections; ear cleaning; blood pressure checked; blood sugar checked. Also, blood work, as required by your physician, can be done here by a lab technician. In case of an emergency, she will come to our homes and determine what care is needed. Her number is 1481. We are very fortunate to have Tracey on campus and these clinics/services available to us – whether we live in the apartments or in the village. Stop by and get acquainted with her! A Beautiful Day In The Neighborhood

King’s Grant

Lloyd Vogel is an investigative journalist who

receives an assignment to profile Fred Rogers, aka

Mr. Rogers. He approaches the interview with

skepticism, as he finds it hard to believe that anyone

can have such a good nature. But Roger’s empathy,

kindness and decency soon chips away at Vogel’s

jaded outlook on life, forcing the reporter to

reconcile with his own painful past.
