2. Industrial revolution contributed greatly to the increase in population whereby many people moved from the countryside to the city for employment purposes. The city was known as the 'workshop of the world'. The improvement of transportation links, including the railway, made it easier to commute from one place to another.

My parents immigrated from Bangladesh to the UK.
They moved for the following reasons:
-better job opportunities
-better housing facilities
-better education for their children
After my parents moved, we first settled in Cardiff, Wales and then we migrated to London as there was a large, thriving Bengali community.
