All electrical connection for mechanical equipment shall be based on the applicable wiring regulation and standards. 1.3 SCOPE OF WORKS A. The Contractor shall supply, install, test and commission the complete mechanical services installation as described within the complete specification documentation and as indicated on the tender design drawings and equipment schedules. The engineering services included in the works shall include but not be limited to the supply, delivery, positioning, installation, setting to work, testing and commissioning of the following systems: 1. District cooling energy transfer stations (ETS rooms) 2. Chilled water services 3. Cooling distribution 4. Air conditioning 5. Ventilation and exhaust 6. Car park smoke ventilation and extract 7. Basement smoke extract system 8. Corridor smoke management systems 9. Lift pressurization 10. Thermal insulation 11. Water treatment 12. Acoustic and vibration control 13. Building management system 14. Testing and commissioning 1.4 CODES, STANDARDS & REGULATIONS A. The design, specification and installation of the Mechanical services will be in accordance with good engineering practice and will conform to, but not limited to, the following Standards, Codes of Practice and Regulations applicable to Dubai: 1. British Standards; 2. National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) Standard Regulations; 3. CIBSE Guidelines; 4. ASHRAE Guidelines; 5. BSRIA Guidelines; 6. Heating and Ventilating Contractors Association DW 144 & DW 172; 7. Dubai Civil Defence (DCD) Guidelines & Regulations; 8. UAE Fire & Life Safety Code of Practice; 9. Dubai Municipality Green Building Regulations & Specifications; 10. Dubai Municipality Regulations. 1.5 DESIGN CRITERIA AND STANDARDS A. General 1. The design of the Engineering services is based on the parameters and design data stated in the following clauses and these shall not be changed or amended without prior written notice from the Engineer. B. Ambient design conditions 1. For the design of all thermal loads and selection of equipment the following ambient conditions shall apply: Period DBT / WBT Summer 46°C / 29°C Winter 12 °C / n/a *Based on DM standards C. Internal design conditions 1. The following schedule states the average internal summer and winter design conditions for the spaces indicated based upon the design ambient temperature stated elsewhere. 2. The average space temperature in mid-season will vary between the two temperature limits.
