Overview
To our loyal readers we send our warmest regards and greetings. To those
reading for the first time, it’s fair to say the last 10 weeks of running this
newsletter, we have covered some ground. From features on Westlite’s
advanced security technology, to the various teams, and their efforts on the
ground, to the kind hearted donors that have contributed gifts and food to our
residents. We’ve kept track of all the activities, contests and entertainment
provided for our residents during the course of lockdown. And, for the last two
weeks we’ve been focusing on getting back to work; what’s required of each
stakeholder; what are the measures being put in place, and this week we will
talk about employer briefings. All employers will be briefed by Westlite staff,
closer to the date their workers will be returning to work. We’ll highlight to you
exactly what’s involved in setting up a briefing session for employers, and the
timelines involved. The good news for employers is that we’re targeting to have
cleared works resuming work next week being the week of 20th July. Although
information can change very quickly, this is currently the expectation we’re
working towards
What is involved in organizing employer
briefings?
Approximately 7 days before workers are
targeted to be heading back to work, Westlite’s
site teams (with support from HQ staff and
government agencies) kick into gear with a
video shoot on-site. Preparations include
creating video content for worker training
material as well as instructional video’s for
employers which, detail new processes
involved in workers, leaving and returning from
the dormitory, downloading of the 3 government
mandated apps and usage of MyMA. These
video material are uploaded on to the Westlite
YouTube channel after they are shown during
the employer briefing sessions
HIGHLIGHTS (Cont’d)
What format is the briefing presentation?
The Westlite team will create presentations with
relevant materials that are specific to each
dormitory location. Things like pick-up and drop-
off routes will be different from dorm to dorm. In
some cases, there may also be process
differences between blocks, so it’s important for
employers to follow only the presentation
material specified in your designated briefing.
Where will the briefing be held
Approximately 2 days before the briefing, Westlite will send out a zoom invitation
to those employers that should attend. Employers will use the login details provide
to login to the zoom call to attend the briefing in a virtual setting. The briefing will
take place approximately 3 days before the workers will actually be able to
resume work. The following day after the briefing, employers will receive the
briefing slides and the video content to review.
Once the briefing has taken place and employers have logged into the portal to
update particulars, the block/dorm is expected to be cleared the following day.
Workers are then expected to resume work the day after dorm/block is cleared
How are the residents briefed
A briefing session will be held for resident as
well, to run through the safe entry and exit
processes, as well as the use of the 3
government apps + the MyMA app which, all
form an integral part of the compliance process
in clearing dorms for work.
There will also be a trial run of the safe
exit/entry process with a sample of residents, to
ensure that both residents and dormitory staff
have put in place the necessary protocols
correctly and movement can be managed
smoothly and safely within the new regulations
What do the new entry exit procedures entail?
The various shots with the blue frame are
examples of how the site teams prepare the
dorms for safe entry and exit. Sanitizer mats for
feet, automatic hand sanitizer stations and
extensive security checks are now part of the
entry/exit procedure
