FED UP: Hei Hei residents Maryann Belcher and Natasha McLean are sick of the vandalism, fighting and drinking that happens over their back fences each weekend.

ANDREW KING

Fed up residents want an alleyway shutdown where people are fighting, drinking and taking drugs.

The alleyway runs between Aurora St and Buchanans Rd, Hei Hei and from Thursday to Sunday morning nearby neighbours endure loud music, people fighting and bottles being smashed.

Neighbours clean up the

alley during the week and find used needles, glass, dog faeces and blood.

They pleaded to the Ric-carton-Wigram Community Board on Tuesday to close down the alleyway.

Natasha McLean bought her home in Aurora St around nine months ago and said she is on edge every weekend.

“It has got to the point that any sound I hear at night I sit upright in bed,” she said.

She has been burgled three times in nine months.

“I don’t feel safe living near it [the alleyway],” she said.

Mrs McLean had circled a petition around the surround-ing neighbours.

She said neighbours told her they do not use it because of the weekend activities.

Chris and Maryann Belcher have lived on the Buchanans Rd end of the al-

leyway for 15 years. They said they have had

enough and want the alley-way gone.

“Our fence was caught fire one [Sunday] morning after someone lit a cabbage tree on fire,” Mr Belcher said.

“If it hadn’t of been for someone knocking on our door and letting us know it could have been a lot worse.”

They have also had to hand in stolen items left on their

back lawn more than once.Police will look into

the problems after being contacted by the community board.

Hornby Community Patrol secretary Ann Smith urged people in the are to con-tact police when they had problems so that they could monitor it.

“The public needs to talk to police so we can identify that hot spot,” she said.

A disability advocacy group wants the city council to shift a Riccarton bus stop because a grate and a driveway make it dangerous.

The bus stop at 67 Mandev-ille St has been on the radar of the Disabled Persons Assembly group because its design means those who are physically im-paired do not use it.

DPA president Philip Hay-thornthwaite told the Riccaton-Wigram Community Board on Tuesday the bus stop needed to be shifted.

He said it crossed a driveway, resulting in the back door being located at a kerb cut-down, and had a grated drainage sump located at the head of the bus stop box.

But city council staff said it is unlikely to be shifted because fewer than one person a day, on average, used the bus stop.

Deputy mayor Vicki Buck

supported the city council staff stance.

But Mr Haythornthwaite said patronage would not increase because the bus stop was ‘dan-gerous”.

“It is utterly stupid that it was installed there deliberately, there on that route, knowing that these problems would arise,” he said.

Board chairman Mike Mora

and deputy chairwoman Helen Broughton visited the site before the meeting and thought if the bus stop was moved south it would solve the problem.

Moving the bus stop meant losing four car parks, however.

“I think that four car parks should be sacrificed for safer bus routes,” said Mr Haythorn-thwaite.

The board has asked city council staff to investigate mov-ing the bus stop further south on Mandeville St, and then to report back.

Board member Debbie Mora said asking city council staff for another report was pointless as it would come back the same as the one they had in front of them.

James O’Caiside – Strowan resident and director at MPD Group Ltd

The other day in Riccarton, I brought a homeless man to the restaurant I was eating at and bought him lunch.

When I came to the outdoor area where he was sat 20min later to bring more food, he had halved what he had and was giving it to another homeless man to eat.

Those prior two sentences are based around something that happened to me less than two weeks ago, and still at this moment makes me profoundly happy.

I can’t describe the senti-ment – it’s not a condescending “look at what I started” type happy.

Not anything of the kind. But I’ll try.The initial reason I had

decided to buy this particular gentleman lunch, sitting on the side of the road with a sign that

said “Homeless and Hungry”, was exactly that.

I’ve never shied from helping people purely on the basis of needing money for whatever reason, but compounding fac-tors for me relate to a person being hungry.

I’ve been hungry before, needed food, not had it readily available.

As a child, as an adult, hun-ger is cruel, and painful, and draining.

I adhered to my three self-appointed principles of inter-acting with someone living on the streets, strange as it may seem:

I sat next to him to talk, as opposed to standing over.

I initiated physical contact, a handshake.

Upon offering to help with food, I instigated him coming to eat at the same restaurant

as me, amongst a social atmosphere.

With a television on the wall, people laughing and plates clattering. No need to sit across the road on the pavement eating the same food, but not invited to do so with the people.

I did simply put, because I was going to have food. I in 20min would not be hungry, my belly would be full. I did it through the virtue of fortune and chance. I had enough to go around to give this man the same feeling, and it was my pleasure to do so.

It feels good to share, to see someone having the same nice things and sensations as you do.

I came out 20min later, and saw this man a half hour ago on the side of the road, now full of steak and a pint of beer.

I saw him readily scooping food off his plate on to that of a fellow hungry man he had waved over, and I clicked.

Enough to go round, happy to have what he needed, and gaining enjoyment from seeing the pleasure stretched to accommodate another.

I was happy because we were the same.

It feels good to share

Changes to the boundaries of the Riccarton-Wigram Com-munity Board, which is set to become the Halswell-Hornby-Riccarton Community Board, could take part of Canterbury University away and put into a different ward.

This would spilt the campus between two community boards.

The option of angled parking will be explored for Elizabeth St in Riccarton.

Residents made a deputa-tion to the Riccarton-Wigram Community Board asking for action around parking issues on Tuesday.

People living on the street have noticed with increased population towards the area there have been less parks avail-able.

The board asked city council staff to look at angled parking for that road which, if works, could be imple-mented in similar situations.

Board deputy chairwoman Helen Broughton (right) also made a notice of mo-tion, which the board moved, about the problem saying it was the “first time” she had heard of parking problem caused by residents.

Resident Kath Jaimison, who presented the deputation, said the increase of people living in Elizabeth St had created a situ-ation where finding a park after 6pm was nearly “impossible”.

“The road was not designed for the amount of cars that currently need to park there,” she said.

Some residents are parking on nearby Picton Ave, leaving

less parking there, and on grass verges on Elizabeth St.

“Young females, those with young children and elderly have to walk a long way,” she said.

Board chairman Mike Mora said the onus for off-street park-ing should be put on property developers rather than the city council having to deal with the problem.

Residents would accept any suggestions that the city council traffic engineers come up with as long as it was not parking restrictions.

“That would just make it worse,” Ms Jaimison said.

She said there was no prob-lem with the idea of population intensification but it needs to be coupled with sufficient parking.

PACKED: Parking on Elizabeth St has become scarce after more and more residents have moved into the area.

RUBBISH, BARK ON FIRESockburn firefighters were called to a residential address in Halswell last week to a pile of rubbish on fire. Fire commu-nications shift manager Riwai Grace said smoke was coming from the backyard of a Hals-well Rd property and the Fire Service was called out at about 11am on Wednesday. He said it took about 10minto put out. Firefighters from Christchurch central were called to Charles St, Waltham, at 1.14pm on Wednes-day. A pile of bark was smoul-dering in Charleston Reserve. It took about 16min to extinguish.

NEW LEASE FOR CHURCHThe Garden City Fellowship has been granted a five year lease for the Hei Hei Link building in Wycola Ave. The Riccarton-Wigram Community Board granted the church-based organisation the lease at its meeting last Tuesday. The church will use the building as a base to run three outreach programmes from the site benefiting the Aranui, Tongan and Hornby communities. While occupying the building the church will make improvements at its own cost including installing a new heat pump, painting the interior and exterior of the building and some new carpet. The city council-owned building was previously the Hornby Toy Library.

Hi Cheyenne, are you from Christchurch?

I was born in Rotorua and moved to Christchurch with my family when I was nine. My Dad was born in Christchurch.

Where is your mum from?Mum is originally from Auck-

land. What school do you go to?I go to Riccarton High School. What is your favourite thing

about Christchurch? The sense of community, par-

ticularly after the earthquakes. Having more people move into the city for the rebuild creates more vibrancy also.

What are some of your hob-bies?

Playing touch rugby, listening to music and spending time with friends and family.

Who is a hero to you?

My heroes are my parents – they inspire me to be all I can be.

What do your parents do?Mum is a groundskeeper and

Dad is a plant operator. When did you decide you

wanted to get into politics?I’ve had an interest in politics

for some time but I still need to learn a lot more.

How did you go about it?It came to me. It was an awe-

some opportunity from our local MP Megan Woods who extended the opportunity through our school.

What is the political debate in the playground like?

Students don’t talk a lot about politics. My aim will be to raise their awareness including en-couraging them to enrol to vote

Why did you decide to that Labour was the party for you?

Blue skies and a light breeze were the perfect combination for Russley School’s athletic day.

Held last Tuesday, more than 400 children from new entrants to year 8 pupils took part in running, jumping and throwing events in the blaz-ing sunshine.

Traditionally, the day has always been a family day for the school community.

School principal Faye Le Cren said it was great to get

the community together.“This year, Russley

families continued the long tradition of making it a whole-school event,” she said.

“The day attracted many parents, grandparents and pre-school siblings along to enjoy some friendly competition between pupils, sporting rivalry between sports houses and to relax over a picnic lunch.”

Great parental support and warm weather helped make Burnside Primary School’s athletics day a success.

The five to seven-year-olds took part in long jump, high jump, hurdles, shot put, discus, moon hopper races, orienteer-ing and sprints.

Teacher Trudi Browne said it

was a fantastic day.“We always have great par-

ent support and we all enjoy watching all of our children aim for their personal excel-lence, which is one of our school values,” she said.

“It was a very hot day that ended with a well-deserved ice block supplied by our PTA.”

MASSIVEOPENING DAY SALESaturday October 31st 10am-6pm

The long-established Christchurch music store, Begg’s Music, is heading in an exciting new direction. As from the end of October, the store will be doing business from its new premises in Sydenham – operating as an outlet store.“The main reason for the move is that we need more space,” says Grant Bargrove, who has owned and run the popular music store for almost 30 years. One of the city’s oldest and most respected businesses, Begg’s dates back to the 1800s and since then has been providing instruments and other musical requirements for generations of keen musicians. The store moved into South City four years ago, after the earthquakes severely damaged the Colombo Street building it had occupied for the previous 25 years. The move to the new, larger premises this month allowing the change to the outlet concept, will mean much cheaper prices for customers, says Grant. Almost all the stock will be directly imported by Begg’s Music and displayed in an industrial environment, which will see examples of the various

instruments on display and the bulk of the stock boxed up ready for customers to pick up and take home.

With the larger premises providing more storage space, Begg’s Music will

be getting back into pianos, says Grant.“We will be bringing them in directly

by the container load. The interest in pianos has reignited, and we

will have the space to showcase them, plus the building will be

temperature controlled for the pianos.” Begg’s Music is also a supplier of Fender guitars, and will have an extensive range at the new outlet store, which also includes a fully equipped workshop.

And with recording and live sound a growth area of the

music industry, amplifiers are another key product for Begg’s

Music, Grant says.

“We also hope to have live music on the premises from time to time.”Begg’s Music is very much a family concern, with Grant’s wife Cynthia responsible for the accounts and administration, and their three children, aged 12 to 19, and Grant’s parents all involved. Cynthia’s property management business also has its office in the new location.Begg’s Music Outlet Store is located at 53 Brisbane Street, on the corner of Brisbane and Wordsworth streets, with plenty of off-street parking. The South City store will close on October 18 and the new outlet store will open on October 31, and will operate from Tuesday to Saturday.

Old Coins Can Toss Up a Rarity

Check those drawers and cupboards, you may have a rarity lurking amongst your coins. This advice from

Tony Grant, buyer for John Bertrand (Collectables) Ltd. “We want to see any old foreign coin accumulations put together before 1950. We will be quite happy to go through your coins on the spot and give you an idea of what we can pay. You just never know what can turn up! New Zealand silver coins up to 1946 will be purchased at 10 times their face value,” he said.

John Bertrand Collectables in Christchurch & Canterbury

With buyers from John Bertrand (Collect-ables) Ltd in Christchurch and Canterbury

this coming week, Mr Tony Grant from the com-pany says “Now is a fantastic opportunity to go through those drawers and cupboards and dig out those unwanted items and turn them into cash.” Especially wanted by the buyers are Old Gold and Collectables such as Military Medals, Old Coins & Banknotes, Vintage Watches and any interesting old items.

“We are keen buyers, especially of the items in the list below,” said Mr Grant, “Everyone has something we want to buy and nothing is too small for our consid-eration. We are just as happy to buy one item as we are buying 1000 items”. The buyers will be in convenient loca-tions around the area this coming week. See below for your nearest location. If you are in doubt about any items you wish to sell, take them in for an instant appraisal.

Some Big Dollars in Early Banknotes

Rolex and Vintage Watches Wanted

Pre 1950’s mechanical watches are needed urgently by the buyers from John Bertrand

(Collectables) Ltd, visiting Christchurch and Canterbury this coming week. Collectors at this stage want brands such as Rolex, Omega, Patek Philippe, Vacheron & Constantin just to mention some. These brands can command large prices depending on the condition, what they are made of etc.

“Many of the other brands are only required for parts. In any event we will buy any mechanical watch, even if its only a few dollars for parts,” said Tony Grant, buyer for the company. Battery operated watches are not needed. “If you are unsure just bring any watches to us at the venues and have them appraised,” he said.

Big Demand for Military Medals

Currently, throughout the world there is a big demand by collectors for Military Medals. These cover all wars

right through from the New Zealand Land Wars and the Boer War, to the First and Second World Wars and the later Korea and Vietnam conflicts. New Zealand Servicemen and Women first served overseas in the Boer War in South Africa around 1900 and the Military Medals awarded for this service are needed by the buyers, as are any other Medals from early New Zealand and the New Zealand Wars.

General service medals from both the First and Second World Wars will also be purchased, but as can be imagined these were awarded in fairly large numbers. “If a group of medals has any special award for bravery such as the Military Medal, Military or Flying Cross or other medals for Distinguished Conduct or Meritorious Service, these can add great value to a group,” stated Mr Tony Grant, buyer for John Bertrand (Collectables) Ltd. “Many families have old medals, some dating back to early Imperial days, that they are not sure what to do with. We will be happy to look at any Military Medals whatsoever, just bring them in to venues,” he said.

Early New Zealand Banknotes dated before 1932 are currently fetching

big money! This is according to Mr Tony Grant, author of the John Bertrand New Zealand Coin & Banknote Catalogue. Mr Grant is in Christchurch and Canterbury this coming week on a buying trip for John Bertrand (Collectables) Ltd and would be very keen to see any of these issues. “We will pay at least $300 for any undamaged Ten Shilling or One Pound

banknote from a New Zealand trading bank dated 1932 or before.

Denominations of five pounds and higher would be worth from $700. Any banknote dated prior to 1900 would be worth at least $1000,” said Mr Grant.

Also purchased are any Reserve Bank of New Zealand pre-decimal issues, especially 50 Pound notes. All overseas banknotes prior to the 1950’s are also wanted.

Gold & Silver Still At High Prices

With gold still at a higher price than

traditional levels, right now would be an opportune time to go through the old jewellery box and dig out those old gold chains, rings and brooches and turn them into cash. Tony Grant says “Now is a great time to sell. We

will buy anything made of gold – old jewellery, coins, alluvial (river) gold, virtually anything, even gold teeth! We also need sterling silver in any form, including cups, tea services, cutlery, old coins and the like,” he said.

Unichem Stantons Pharmacy in the Halswell Shopping Centre moved into its bright and spacious new premises early

in April, following the construction of the new retail precinct adjacent to the New World supermarket; however, it has only been since the completion of the car park some three months ago, giving customers access to all the retail outlets, that business has fully resumed, says owner Doug Stanton.

“We are now back to the level of business we were at prior to the deconstruction of the old shops and the development of the new precinct. In August and September, we have seen a return to normality, which is very encouraging.”

The new store offers an extensive range of both pharmacy and complementary medicines as well as a wide selection of skincare products (both medicated and natural), quality cosmetics and popular fragrances.

The team of five qualified pharmacists, who include Doug and his wife Judy, and the three pharmacy technicians provide full dispensary services for customers needing prescriptions filled or advice about their medications. They have also

introduced new professional services at the new pharmacy, which include providing privately funded vaccinations for influenza and shingles.

The pharmacy has 15 staff members in total, including full and part-time staff, with the retail assistants having the knowledge, experience and passion to give expert advice to customers on all their health and wellbeing products needs, as well as for skincare and cosmetics. Providing passport photos is also a service currently in demand at the pharmacy.

Another new feature of the pharmacy is the two consultation rooms, Doug says.

One of them is dedicated to cosmetic consultation and beauty makeovers, where visiting beauticians and the in-store cosmetic consultants will provide these beauty services for customers, usually with appointments lasting up to one hour.

The other room is dedicated to pharmacy consultations and services, where customers can discuss their health concerns and medication requirements in private, and it’s also where vaccinations are administered.

“There is an increasing demand for this aspect of pharmacy services, whereby people may be able to obtain an increasing

number of prescription medications from their accredited pharmacist who has approval to supply them, if appropriate, to a customer following a consultation with them. It’s the convenience factor they like,” says Doug.

He and his wife have lived in Halswell and owned the pharmacy for 26 years.

“As the community has grown and families have grown up around us, we’ve been part of that growth, too. We believe we are now well positioned to meet all the health, wellness and beauty needs of our customers as the Halswell area continues to grow and develop.”

Unichem Stantons Pharmacy is open Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 5.30pm, and Saturday, 9.30am to 12.30pm.

Avonhead resident Juanita Clearwater will have her first children’s book The Pigeon Express published at the end of this month.

The Pigeon Express is an actual account of an event witnessed while she was in London on the underground.

“I am so inspired by children,” she said.

“They have the most amazing open minds.”

“They express them-selves with so much emotion whether it be happy, sad, angry, playful or excited,” she said.

Her mother introduced the family to many great English children’s stories like Famous Five, Secret Seven, Milly Molly Man-dy, Little Old Mrs Pepper-

Pot and many more.Ms Clearwater said

reading this book with your children we re-join their world and see many wonderful things happen-ing around us which we are normally too busy to see.

For her 10th birthday, she was given three Pam Ayers books.

Ms Clearwater used in-

fluences from these stories and they helped shaped the way she wrote stories for her own five children.

Born in Dunedin, Ms Clearwater was the third of seven children.

The Pigeon Express is published by Austin Macauley and will be re-leased on Friday (October 30).

THE FLAME FILES BY MARK THOMAS – FIRE RISK MANAGEMENT OFFICER

Just a week ago, just after I finished the last column, a young man in Aranui was heating oil on the kitchen stove when it overheated and caught on fire.

As I’ve reported many times before, there are some recommended actions that can handle this situation. Covering the burning frying pan to exclude the air is the basis of these. It works.

However, in this case the victim picked up the pan and ran for the back door.

Now that is not a good idea. There was a mattress propped up in the laundry that he tripped on, splashing burning oil on to it. The mattress caught fire and the intrepid cook had a second issue to deal with. Buckets of water were utilised. The house was saved.

But the victim was found to have burns to his hands and smoke inhalation symptoms. All of which could have been avoided if he only had knowledge of the correct thing to do.

Wind-caused incidents are prevalent at the moment with the nor’westers in regular full force.

Last Sunday there were several instances of firefighters fixing flapping roof iron down and in Wildberry St, Woolston, the crew utilised chainsaws to remove a tree that had fallen onto a house.

The winds are bound to continue for some weeks yet and the nature of the nor’wester is to suck moisture out of undergrowth. So the city will get drier and any fire will spread quickly. Please be careful.

COMING SOON: The Pigeon Express written by Juanita Clearwater will be available for sale on Friday.

PUPILS’ WORKS PUBLISHEDTwo Russley School pupils have had their work published in a national student magazine. Year 8 pupil, Monica Koster, had her story selected for publication in the new Toi Toi Student Journal (Issue 1, winter 2015) and an accompanying illustration chosen as the cover for this publication. Her story The Latest Craze was selected from among 500 entries from throughout New Zealand.

Year 3 pupil, Charlize Fowler, has had her autumn poem TWIRL published in the same publication.

Monica said: “I wrote this story for

the Queens’ Common-wealth Essay com-petition. It didn’t win a prize for this com-petition but I sent it to Toi Toi and I was really surprised to have it selected to be published. It’s a real confidence booster to get something published, because you wouldn’t get into the book if you weren’t okay at writing. It was really cool to have my illustration on the front cover too.”

Thursday, November 12 to 14

Could this be the best golf event ever brought to Christchurch? The New Zealand Cup & Show Week Golf Event is a 36-hole tournament

open to all golfers from around Christchurch and the rest of New Zealand. This event aims to ‘break the traditional shackles’ of golf club tournaments in New Zealand with an innovative event that engages players, sponsors and golf stakeholders. Most major golf events don’t actually allow their target audience the opportunity to play in the tournament. That’s not the case here, experience how it feels to play Christchurch’s two premier golf courses prepared to international tournament standard with the atmosphere of a big golf event, combined with superb hospitality, major golf sponsors with the latest in golf technology on show and horse racing!

The official NZ Cup & Show Week event will be played over two days at the stunning Pegasus Golf & Sports Club and Clearwater Golf Clubs. Whilst this is a fantastic golf event, filled with interactive golf competitions and unique scoring formats, the occasion is as much about the vibrancy of Christchurch during NZ Cup & Show Week and a exceptional experience for those that enter the event.

Premium hospitality and customer experience is at the core of this event and your entry fee includes:

Two days green fees and complimentary cart hire; one day at Pegasus Golf Club & one day at Clearwater Golf Club played over the 12th & 13th November. At each golf course breakfast will be served both days on arrival, followed by shot gun starts each day. Lunch will be served on course followed by a two hour hospitality package at the completion of each days play.

On the evening of Friday 13th players and their partners are invited to Rydges Latimer Square for an evening of entertainment, with presentations from Puma Cobra Golf and Taylor Made Golf and other key stake holders. The evening will also stage the major prize

draw; 5 nights in Las Vegas. Every team that enters the event has an equal chance of winning the major prize.

On Saturday the 14th the hospitability continues with entry to the Riccarton Races for the Christchurch Casino Cup in a private marquee village. Everything on the day will be provided including private totes for the odd flutter, live music and catering for the day. Transport to and from the races will also be provided.

Offering incredible value, all the above is included in your entry fee. Quite possibly, the only time you need to dig into your own pocket is for the odd flutter. Don’t miss out on this fantastic opportunity to play golf and be treated like a pro! Entries are closing soon and strictly limited! For more information go to:

With everyday low prices throughout the store, over 50 items are permanently discounted, but there is no compromise on the quality of the supplements, vitamins and herbal medicines that they stock. Many of the items you buy on a weekly basis are always on special including some of the most popular items, such as fish oil, glucosamine, vitamin C, magnesium and protein powders in their sport zone section. Customers know that they are making savings on their everyday health items, week after week.

Business owner Brett Heaney says that, “The friendly, professional managers and staff in all our three stores help customers

feel at ease talking about their health and skincare needs. We all strive to ensure everyone gets the best outcome possible, and we encourage feedback so we can fine-tune the appropriate skincare and health supplements to meet the needs of every individual customer.” Their natural health consultants are passionate about what they do and are highly qualified. They are on hand to give you advice on a whole range of healthcare concerns, whatever your age. In fact, the team has built strong and trusting relationships with customers of all ages, from young families with preschool children through to school children, teenagers and mature adults.

The Homestead Health and Beauty Loyalty Club is another bonus for customers, rewarding them with discounts and special offers. All three

Homestead Health and Beauty stores offer an exceptional shopping experience as has been demonstrated in customer satisfaction survey responses, which showed that 100 per cent of customers were “extremely happy” with the services offered.

They are experts in custom-making dentures and repairs to give their clients a comfortable and natural fit. As well as making full and

partial dentures, they will reline existing dentures once they have had chance to settle after the first few months, to give them back their initial great fit so that wearers are again able to smile and eat with assurance.

Their expertise also extends to providing dentures that attach to implants, making sure that the whole look is natural and consistent.

Dentures Plus is owned by Ryan Carlton, a clinical dental technician who specialises in treating patients directly, and his partner, German-trained Marion Schoenleben, who is a qualified dental technician skilled in the design and manufacture of dentures.

The rest of the friendly team comprises practice manager Paulette Dench, who will book your appointments for you and welcome you as you arrive; Nicole Yee, a clinical dental technician whose focus

is on using her technical skills to benefit her patients; and Paula Brickman, who brings years of experience and skills to denture manufacturing.

Although many of their clients are referred by their dentists, this isn’t necessary as Dentures Plus welcomes new patients and they can liaise with you and your dentist, or recommend a dentist if you require an extraction. They will make the dentures before an extraction to

help with the healing process. If you want to enjoy the festivities this

summer and have a smile to remember in your Christmas and holiday photographs, Ryan and the team recommends you make an appoint with them as soon as possible.

“It can take some time for a set of dentures to settle in,” he explains.

Denture Plus’ professional and patient-centred approach means they will support you at every stage, and have

Denture wearers know how important it is to have confidence in the dental technicians who make

and fit your dentures. At Dentures Plus on Innes Road, the team are highly qualified and experienced

specialists who work to the highest calibre.

Beautiful smilesthis Christmas season

you with a natural-looking smile and eating with confidence in time for the Christmas celebrations.

Delightfully bold on Huntsbury3 Runswick Lane, HuntsburyPrice: By negotiation4 bedrooms | 2 bathrooms | 2-car garage | 191 m2 floor area | 191 m2 floor area | Listing #: RH1129

Designed to reflect modern living, architectural designer Philip Bidwell delivers a contemporary and visually exciting family home

in the prestigious suburb of Broad Oaks. Adjacent Coronation Reserve, this delightfully bold split-level family home is accessed by a private laneway and features a floor plan that capitalises on the wide open views, while maximising all day sun.

Upstairs comprises a light and expansive open plan living environment, incorporating the kitchen and dining area. Featuring large bi-fold doors, the living space seamlessly expands to include an outdoor entertainment courtyard, perfectly protected from the elements without compromising the view. Beyond the living space you will find a relaxing master bedroom suite with wonderful views, private lounge area, walk-in robe and luxurious en suite with a decadent large bath.

Downstairs reveals three bedrooms, bathroom with shower, separate toilet, laundry, huge storage area and double garage with internal access. Overall, this home delivers big on functionality and an ease of lifestyle that many would enjoy.

With underfloor heating, heat pump, double glazing and a series of floor to ceiling north-facing windows, this home will provide warmth and comfort all year round. Built at the end of the 2007 earthquake, damage to the property was minor, and with repairs to the dwelling now complete, the home presents with an almost new quality.

Internally the restrained palette of warm whites and contemporary neutral decor never competes with the magical views, and helps to create the ideal backdrop for artwork and furniture. To the exterior, the onduline cladding offers a sense of drama with the sensibility of being environmentally friendly.
