@ShaneClipfell

SUCCESS UNDER CLIPFELL> 17+ wins in each of the last three seasons> 43-26 at home> 8 All-MAC Selections> 5 straight seasons w/ MAC Tournament win> 1 WNIT

HOME COURT ADVANTAGEWestern Michigan is 43-26 when playing at University Arena under Clipfell, including an impressive 12-2 record in the 2014-15 season. Clipfell’s team has never finished with a below .500 home record in five seasons.

RECORD SETTING YEARThe Broncos are coming off another suc-cessful season under Clilpfell, notching a 19-13 overall record including an impressive 10-game winning streak in the nonconference season. The record falls just two victories shy of tying the school record for wins (21) set in 1978 while the win streak is the fourth longest winning streak the program has ever seen and longest in the last 20 years. The winning season is the third straight winning season for Clipfell and the Broncos, which hasn’t hap-pened in over 10 years. PRIOR TO WMUIn the previous 14 years prior to Western Michigan, Clipfell worked in different capaci-ties on a Suzy Merchant (Michigan State head coach) staff. He began with Merchant as an assistant at Eastern Michigan during the 1998-99 season and coached alongside her at Mich-igan State for five years after Merchant took the Spartan helm in 2007-08. For the final three years, Clipfell served as the associate head coach at Michigan State, coordinating the program’s recruiting efforts, including organizing official, unofficial, off-campus and home visits.

PREVIOUS HEAD COACHING EXPERIENCEPrior to coaching at the Division I level, Clipfell spent five seasons at Glen Oaks Community College, including three as head coach, and 11 years as the varsity head coach at Colon High School.

PERSONALClipfell (DOB: 8/29/63) earned a bachelor of science degree in communications at Eastern Michigan in 2006. Before Clipfell joined the coaching profession full-time at the collegiate level, he worked in the manufacturing indus-try. Clipfell and his wife, Connie, have two adult children, John and Lauren.
