West Nyack Free Library Autumn 2016
Gifts and Donations:
A generous monetary donation from the
company Deloitte for library use.
From William Heebink, Grit: The Power of
Passion and Perseverance for the Adult Room
collection in honor of Lorette M. Adams for her
many years of service to the Clarkstown
Community.
From Nancy and John Brady, Ballerina Gets
Ready and Ocean Animals: Who’s Who in the
Deep Blue for the Children’s Room collection in
loving memory of Jessica Tortorella.
A Note from the Circulation Desk:
If you’ve been in recently, you
may have noticed our new look.
In May we replaced our twenty
year old Circulation desk with a
newer, sturdier model that
embraces today’s technology, laws and style.
Our new desk is lower and smoother, making it
wheelchair accessible, and enables our youngest
patrons to interact directly with our staff. The new
design also gives us more usable space to check out
a variety of items in different shapes and sizes.
Our new footprint gives us better visibility so that
we may greet our patrons as they come upstairs.
We hope you come visit us soon!
Dina Reisman, Head of Circulation
As we look to our future, the 2018 budget represents
our continued commitment to providing you with the
services and materials you’ve come to expect. From
early literacy programming to tech help for seniors,
the resources we provide cross all demographics.
The 2018 budget allows us to continue building upon
that solid foundation of lifelong learning and access
for everyone. Our parking lot capital project will
enhance this shared community space, and an
increase in the equipment and furniture budget line
will cover replacement of some library furnishings
that are starting to show their age. As demand for
eBooks grows, so does the amount we are allocating
for their purchase. Please come support our pledge to
serve our Clarkstown community.
The proposed budget will be presented at the library
on Tuesday, November 22 at 7 PM. We encourage
you to attend. The vote will be held on Wednesday,
December 14.
Thank you for your support!
