Making E-commerce PersonalTrying to break into the E-commerce market as a start-up necessitates thinking out of the box and finding that one

puzzle piece that sets you apart. Some refer to this as “finding your niche”.

Finding is the difficult part in the niche hunt since it seems that everything possible is already being done and there

is little if any space for businesses that are not already out there.

Wesley Yuhn knows how hard it is for entreprenuers to develop a solution that will make e-commerce better and

suggests that start-ups start thinking about personal ways to interact and fill the needs that major companies cannot.

In that vein, the New York Times focused on several start-ups that are exclusively E-commerce enterprises organized

around personal touches for consumers. Many of these innovative go-getters have become so successful that they

have had to hire more than 10 people in their first year in business and are still making a profit.

One industry that is flying under the radar is personal shoppers who workentirely with online sites rather than

making the rounds at brick-and-mortar stores. These services are available for men, women and even their client’s

children.

But, clothing is not the only thing that start-up services are shopping for. There are a handful of successful wine

shoppers who work for both individuals and businesses finding speciality wines across the globe for their brick-and-

mortar friends.

If wine isn’t your motivator, there areother industries such as automobiles, beauty supplies, shoes and home

furnishings. In some areas of the country, there are even grocery shoppers that schedule delivery of your week’s

food supply to your front door.

Thinking slightly out of the box and allow E-commerce to flourish through mobile apps, Uber established a car

pick-up service or “ride sharing service” for those who don’t drive or don’t want to drive on any particular day.

According to the entreprenuers who run these e-commerce services, it is essential that you are more focused on

providing the right items that fit your client’s lifestyle, personal preferences and favorite brands or labels.

eMarketer predicts that this niche field will become one of the hottest e-commerce production sites in 2015 having

already seen an increase of 20% in 2014. There is more than one way to succeed in personal service e-commerce as

one men’s shopper site learned when Nordstrom bought them out for a very healthy price.
