yNga Pumanawa e Waru (Current)Facilitator of LearningThe mission of this project is to build, with teachers, a connected and collaborative learning environment that promotes and supports student engagement and achievement.

My role with Nga Pumanawa e Waru involves teacher coaching in relations to the use of devices in a future focused learning environment. I coach teachers in moving from teacher-directed learning environments to learner self-regulated environments and build with them approaches that will ensure sustainability.

I co-ordinate workshops and resources, including technology specialists (for wifi connectivity assurance), senior management, teacher aides, outside technicians and stake holders, and hold community evenings in order to empower and inform parents and whanau.

I have provided professional learning workshops, staff meetings and in-class scaffolding. Training was provided in the areas of word processing, spread-sheeting, curriculum vitaes, job interviews, reception and office duties, communication skills and business management.

My duties included tutoring and assessing relevant Unit Standards for word processing, spread-sheeting and typing; and attending to disciplinary matters such as plagiarism.
