Well done to all families - a super first two weeks of learning!

As we near the end of our first two week of home learning, I have to say how impressed I have been by everyone and how you have risen to the challenge of home learning!

I know this hasn’t always been easy and you are not alone if you’ve found the maths tricky or organising children around working from home yourselves hard (lots of parents have struggled with this—me too!). But you have done so well and, from what I see from the photos and videos emailed to the school office you are all doing amazingly and making a difference at home. At school, we have so enjoyed reading your messages, please keep them coming into the school office included over the Easter Holidays too.

Well done & remember that we are here for you !

We are all missing you!

Thornbury Baptist Church

Thornbury Baptist Church has a new "Families at Thornbury Baptist Church" group on Facebook, which has helpful resources and suggestions of ways to help the children engage in prayer time/worship time. Also for families with pre-school aged children, the church have "Thornbury Baptist Church Coffee Shop and Soft Play" group which has suggestions of things to do with younger children as well as videos of story times and song times. The church have also been uploading services on their YouTube channel which you can access via on the Thornbury Baptist Church website: http://www.thornburybaptistchurch.org.uk and a separate video for our Children's ministry with our new Families Worker Hev: https://youtu.be/d576f6KTsBs.

News from School

We are missing everyone at CTK, but we have been busy being creative in the school grounds, completing art for Southmead Hospital, doing our home learning in the mornings plus a new pupil has been enjoying the pond area.

Key worker families from Gillingstool have also joined our CTK family and as two communities we are working together as one big family.

.

Free School Meals All families who receive Free School Meals will from the Government receive a eVoucher. Mrs Collins is sorting out the new eVoucher scheme and the information will arrive from Edenred by email (please check your spam account). If you need any help with anything please phone the school.

Farewell to Mrs Windeatt This week we say goodbye to one of CTK’s Teaching Assistants Mrs Windeatt. who has been a Teaching Assistant at the school for 17 years. During that time she has worked with hundreds of children and her calm approach and kindness will be remembered by them all. Her contribution to the school over so many years will leave a permanent mark on the memory of our whole community and she will be sadly missed by her colleagues and the children alike. Although saying goodbye this week, we hope to invite Mrs Windeatt back to a proper farewell assembly later in the year as, sadly, the closure meant that the whole school community couldn’t celebrate her contribution. But in the meantime, we’d like to say a huge thank you to Mrs Windeatt on behalf of the whole community. Mrs Collins

Mrs Collins, Our School Business Manager has delayed her retirement to support the school office and community during the school closure. As a school, we are very grateful for her support as it has been very busy in the office and having someone who knows our school family has made a huge difference for everyone.

School Easter Holidays CTK will be closed for the two weeks of the Easter Holidays. All children of Key Workers will be attending a holiday club. The school will re-open for Key workers children on Monday 20th April and all work for children who are at home will be on the school website. Window Art

It has been wonderful admiring all the artwork in your home windows. The themes for the next few weeks are: 6th April :Easter 13th April :Animals 20th April :Flowers 27th April :Smiley Faces This week is sunshine.
