Chapel of GuadalupeOn one side of the Hacienda Henequenera is the Chapel of Guadalupe, which is known for its altar inside a cenote.Built with neoclassical architecture of the 20th century, different images of the Virgin of Guadalupe can be found inside, as well as an image carved into a wooden trunk 40 feet high.

Mayan

Mayan CeremonyA spiritual ceremony where the Mayan gods are called upon, especially Ixchel, goddess of the moon, the sea and fertility, to create an ambience of protection and harmony. An altar is set up for the ceremony with the four elements represented by flowers, seeds, wine and fire, which symbolize abundance, union and the commitment between the couple and the universe. Four conch shells are made ready for four guests, two on the side of the groom and two on the side of the bride, to participate by blowing these conches toward the four cardinal points.

Ceremony Steps:

1. The couple is welcomed to the altar.

2. The presence of the ancient gods of Fire and Water is requested, as well as the presence of the guardians of the jungle.

3. Communion with the sacred Balché wine which has been used in Mayan communities for centuries.

4. An offering of white copal is made to the god of Fire, the most ancient male, to bring blessings to the couple and their guests.

5. An offering is made to Ixchel, the goddess and owner of water, fertility, medicine and the love between all of us, who in exchange will give us her blessings and strength to keep on going.

6. An exchange of offerings such as corn, coffee beans, flowers and necklaces takes place.


•The cost of the Mayan Ceremony is separate from the location chosen to perform it.

This ceremony begins with the sound of conch shells and incense offerings to the four cardinal points. It continues with words from a shaman, praying to the Great Lord, the giver of life.

FIRST DANCE: DANCE OF THE CORNA dance of fertility, pride and happiness, the opening of the ritual ceremony.

SECOND DANCE: ITZCUAUHTLI (White Eagle)This dance symbolizes the founding of Mexico with Tenochtitláan. Two warriors merge as one: the cactus still survives in the driest areas, representing immortality or firmness of a culture; and the eagle, for his majesty, pride and nobility, in turn associated with the sun, reflects the strength and greatness of the people.

THIRD DANCE: UNIVERSE, TLETL (Fire)Fire, one of the four main elements, is the symbol of life and death. It creates a bridge that unites man with his surroundings, his nature and his inner self. It awakens consciousness through self-sacrifice, and through fire, everything becomes one.

FOURTH DANCE: COYOLTZIN (Rattles).The characteristic sound of the rattle, similar to that made by a known snake, shows the strength, courage and power of the Mexican race but it also symbolizes wisdom and the constant evolution of knowledge, moving in a rhythmic spiral that reflects immortality.

•Artists’ participation will be available subject to the confirmation of their schedules due to Park operations.

•During high season the schedules may have other restrictions.

•Artist participation tolerance is either 15 minutes behind or 15 minutes set extension. Any more time beyond this will incur a 50% charge of the cost of the set.

•The artistic groups of a certain number of members that are not allowed to be altered in order to maintain the quality of the services Xcaret offers.

•In the case of special arrangements or a special song, it must be requested 45 days prior to the event and will carry an additional quote to the regular set depending on the complexity of the request.

•To protect the quality and image of your event, the involvement of external music is not allowed. If you have an exception previously evaluated, it must employ at least three musical acts of the Park.

General Policies

Xcaret Park is grateful for your preference and interest in holding your important event with us. We can assure you that our best efforts and the best quality of our services, products and personnel will be with you every step of the way.This section has been put together in order to keep you updated with the policies that apply for Special Events inside the Park.

1. AVAILABILITY: Given the natural operations of the Park, private events are restricted during Holy Week, high season of July and August, high season of December, and during special festivals of the Park. Please consult availability with your coordinator.

2. RESERVATIONS AND DATES:To consider booking a date or area of your interest, it must be requested via e-mail, and will remain in a tentative status for 15 days, after which Xcaret will receive an initial non-refundable deposit to secure the event and be considered definitive. Otherwise, date and areas will be released to be available to the application of any other party.

3. CONFIRMATION:In order to consider the event and date booked as definitive, it is necessary that Xcaret receives a non-refundable payment of 30% of the total amount of the event in the case of a complete wedding (ceremony and reception), or 50% in case only a ceremony is to be held.The client can consider the event as confirmed once a quote is received with the initial deposit reflected in the breakdown.

4. SCHEDULE:Given Park operations, the schedule when event services can begin is 19:00 hours.

Cocktail and reception services are offered at different times depending on the chosen area.

Latest end time for events, including extra hours, is 04:00 hours.

Additional hours are not divisible.

5. VENUES (LOCATIONS AND RESTAURANTS):On Fridays and Saturdays, the rental of any chapel will be conditional to also contracting reception service at the Park.

The rental of any of the chapels from Monday to Thursday requires the rental of cocktail service or music at the Park.

Areas considered as locations for either a civil or religious ceremony have a specific rate. In case you require a service other than a ceremony in one of the locations, the price will be revised.The areas are listed for a specific number of attendees. In case of exceeding it, the price is subject to revision.

6. CONSUMPTION GUARANTEE:In accordance with the chosen service area, there is a minimum guarantee required for food and drink consumption, which is specified in the information for each location.

Decreasing the guaranteed amount or number of services is not possible once the first down payment has been made, as this payment means that the written agreement is binding.

For services after 02:00 hours, such as additional bar hours or after wedding party menus, a 50% decrease is allowed on the condition that the amount of people is not reduced to less than 100, or less than the original guarantee.

A guarantee increase is accepted at least 10 days prior to the event, with the understanding that at the time of the request, the amount equivalent to the increase of the guarantee must be paid in full. After this period of time a guarantee increase request is subject to review.Xcaret Park will protect itself and its clients with a food surplus according to the following specifications:

•For events of up to 199 people, the surplus will be 10% over the number guaranteed in the agreement.•For events of 200 people or more, the surplus will be 5% over the number guaranteed in the agreement.

7. FOOD:The selected foods, whether menus or hors d’oeuvres, must be requested according to the guaranteed number of guests to attend your event, respecting the guarantee in each of the selected categories.

Xcaret Park offers to work out some of the menu to your liking, with the understanding that it will be quoted separately from the built-in option and in relation to the type of requested food items.

8. MENU TASTING:A tasting must be requested at least 15 days prior to your event date, considering the following:For confirmed events, the tasting will have no additional cost if there are no more than 4 people participating and with a maximum of 2 menus to choose from. An extra charge will be apply if there are more people involved depending on the selected menu(s).

Once your event is confirmed, this charge will be credited to your quote, and removed from the total amount due.

Tasting times are Monday to Friday from 11:00 to 13:00 hours, subject to Park confirmation.

Dates that tastings are restricted: weekends and high season (Holy Week, summer vacations, and the week of Christmas and New Year’s).

9. BEVERAGES:The selected beverage service, such as open bar or corkage fee, must be requested according to the guaranteed amount of guests, respecting the guarantee in each of the selected categories.

In case corkage is required, the price applies per person, not per bottle.

Cash bar service is not permitted.

All of the wine and liquor bottles brought in by the client to be used at the event must fulfill Mexican regulations by having the seal of the Treasury Department. Without this, they will not be accepted.

10. MUSICIANS AND ARTISTS:Xcaret musicians / artists have a participation time and duration defined in the agreement of the event. If the participation is delayed or extended by the client and the artist is able to extend his performance, an additional charge will be applied according to these parameters. For a delay of 15 to 30 minutes, a charge of 50% of the regular price will apply. If the delay exceeds 30 minutes, a second set will be charged. If the set goes beyond the time agreed upon (eg, ceremonies), an additional set will be charged from minute 16 to minute 45.

In order to protect the image and quality of your event, participation of external musicians is not allowed.

If you have an exception to the previous point, previously evaluated and authorized by the Park’s Executive Director, at least three (3) of the musical acts offered by the Park must be hired to participate in your event.

At least 15 days prior to the event, the Park must receive a list with the crew’s names, as well as an inventory of all the equipment that will be used. The artist(s) must enter the Park through the security area at the time and locations specified by the Special Events Coordinator. Every single member of the crew must present an official photo ID and wear a security badge at all times. The external artist(s) must bring all the equipment and technicians needed for the event, as Xcaret does not provide sound or equipment for external performers.

11. SECURITY:All external vendors must register their entry in one of our security control booths (depending on the operation of the day, the coordinator will indicate which will be used) leaving an official photo ID in exchange for an ID badge, which authorizes access to the Park. The vendor must wear this badge all the time he/she remains inside the Park.

Minors are not allowed into the Park as part of the vendor staff. All the staff members must be of legal age and present an official photo ID in order to be allowed in.

Several safety guidelines apply inside Xcaret Park depending on the area. However, it is important to mention that any kind of pyrotechnics (even cold) are not allowed and neither is any activity using fire (shows, fire dancers, etc.).

In Xcaret Park, due to the rustic ambience and natural environment, all activities are limited to certain areas. If the behavior of any attendee (whether a client, guest or vendor) puts the safety of any person at risk, he/she will be requested to leave or the event will be suspended.

12. PAYMENT GUARANTEEAll events must be paid in full 100%, 30 days before the event.The last deposit must be made by bank transfer or direct cash deposit to the General Park Cashier and should be reflected in Xcaret’s account at least 30 days before the event. Personal checks are not accepted.

The client must pay in full for any bank commission charged for transfers made, use of cashier’s checks, or credit cards, as Xcaret Park will consider the final amount received, that is reflected in its bank account, as payment.

Every event must be paid in full by the end of the event.

In case an invoice is required, we ask that you consider the following points:
